Morning!

So, it seems my car is coming at some stage in the future, probably on Santa next round trip to be honest.

Living in the UK, I'm not entirely keen on getting the stock CP rims full of salt and grime and destroying them considering their (eye-watering) cost, I'm looking for suggestions on some wheels (not tyres) please? I don't particularly want to spend £1000 for 4 rims, has anyone spent less and still got something that looks good and doesn't crack/break when going over a leaf etc? :D

If you happy to, be cool to see some pictures being posted of those who have changed their rims!

Anything 18" from a recent Toyota or Lexus will have the correct bore and stud pcd. Only the width and offset varies.
My Winters are a set of Avensis 7.5" width 45mm offset alloys, "used" but zero miles, £300 via Ebay.
The only problem is that the outside face of the front calipers are VERY close (<0•5mm) to the inside of the wheel spokes. Solved with 2mm spacers.

Braid Fullrace A are hard to beat in terms of value for the GR. They are a good weight and quality, look good on the car, can be ordered with the specific centre bore so you don’t need spigot rings, and come in sub £1k for a set of you want 18x8:

There should be quite a few photos of them on the Yaris if you search. White, gold, or anthracite are available, or for an extra £50 per wheel, any colour that you want 😊

In the same boat -- looking for an extra set for the winter. Also having dirty thoughts about selling the BBS and retiring a couple of years early ;).
Question: is there a wheel weight thread, database or sticky? If not, should we have one? While shopping around I asked some manufcturers for specific weights of some of their Yaris fitments. All in 18x8 and misses the ET but perhaps useful for some...

Wow, that's really rather light and look ace. That has it's price though. And no TÜV sadly, same goes for the BRAIDs which I also really like.

If you want to add it to your table, Speedline 2013c 18x8 ET35, I weighed one of mine at 12.9kg. Strong, yes, but my god they are heavy.

In the meantime, I’m sure the inflation on these is more than energy prices! 😆

Yeah, I saw the price of those things has gone up. I'm going to take mine off and put them in a (large) safety deposit box at the bank 😂

Yeah, think I'll do the same. And in a couple of years time, ring the Swiss government and offer them in exchange for one of their smaller Cantons :).

Wheel weights wise, I'm collecting a bit more data to post in a new thread. @Sly : apologies for the hijack!

No problem at all mate - whatever helps the community!
If you could put links to those rims for how they look, I might use that to choose my next set! Not keen on the £2339 a replacement for the stock CP ones!

I received a leaflet from Toyota few days ago. they offer full wintersets, I guess those are the rims of the non-CP model + WinterContact TS 870 P rubber on it. comes with a price tag of €3450,-

2 of mine were slightly untrue from factory too… going for evocorse next
Do you notice it when driving? I'm thinking a weaker cast is easier to keep true then a stonger flowformed wheel that is forged/rolled on the barrel and which may thus keep a minimal deformation as the material is 'activated'.

Just thinking out loud, have not worked with wheel tolerances so to speak...

If it's machining of the hub, that's something else, then it should have a 'throw' on all sides...

Not drove on them yet as im still waiting on it arriving, only noticed it when I mounted the tyres and had them spinning on the balancing machine while getting ready for its winter arrival. I noticed 2 had some radial run out of a few millimetres. As these are winter wheels im not too fussed for the moment as I won't be going too fast with it, it's literally the kindergarten chariot for my little boy, I won't be tracking it or anything. Let me know how you get on with a claim from Braid.

Not maybe going after claim as tyre specialist said it has likely only small effect. Winter use also more or less althought thought to use them for summer gravel. But unlikely to exceed 160kmh
