Can but wont, you can get your username redacted under GDPR regs but the threads and posts remain. You'll just appear as [Deleted-User]

I am on there as deleted User #9, BUT any time someone has replied to me my original name shows in their post

I didn't until you posted - so I went to see if they'd deleted my user a/c like I asked
 
For reasons like that I have been more aggressive in redirecting people here as I really believe it's not very wise to make, if not new posts, at least not new threads there. Reading VS's terms of use isn't a pretty read, together with the realisation the owners are more or less completely absent only made that sentiment stronger...

Edit: just did another redirect in the old place, it's here, feel free to like it so it doesn't look like spam...

Yep, the rot is setting in and unless a small miracle happens from VS's side, that's they way it's gonna continue going unfortunately

I can't believe he didn't get banned, but I got. I had like 4 posts total, I guess they were all spam then.
 
I don't actually feel anger at the guy who sold it. The announcement was my first realisation that there's a market for forums (fora?) and I googled to try to find the going rate. If that guy managed to get that kind of money from a company who now expect to extract rent from a dying , low quality forum of resentful users and middling SEO, fair play.
 
I have briefly spoken with Matt, their is no bad blood between us - he was never a GR owner and I guess the opportunity presented itself at the right time for him, but we are not for sale. (y)

Every single forum I'm a member of and they've brought out has turned into a shitshow with little to zero support by them.
 
Just read the saga. I'm using pihole on top of browser based adblock so wasn't that bad. Just thought it odd the other place lacked some of it's former buzz. Explains a lot. And after reading the T&Cs (thanks Onehp!) I'm packing my stuff and moving here.

Bumping this thread because we are aware of changes taking place on another GR Yaris forum.

To be crystal clear our outlook hasn't changed since we started this project, this is about the cars, the people and specialists who support them and not about revenue and profit.
