I think it's the fear that any damage will result in a replacement wheel at about £800 each. Personally I'm not worried about it
Although there are others that want to run winter tyres, and in all honesty it's easier to just have a set of winter tyres on spare rims.

2nd set for winter use, stock forged BBS for summer rally fun. they're quite beaten already but I believe they can take it and then you can always paint them if needed..

Mine is the standard car sold in Oz with the cast Enkei wheels. I am not a great fan of black wheels anyway but I also wanted some dedicated track wheels with road legal semis. The stock Dunlops were always getting binned too. Thus the Enkeis became track wheels. I love the Oz Racing Leggera HLT and equivalent styles (BBS F1 etc). These suit the GRY and aren't stupidly expensive and a set of these are my daily wheels with Yoko AD08R. Would have done the same with the forged BBS.

I’m thinking I’ll swap my wheels around and use the originals for track wheels and use my OZ for the road. Thinking being less chance of wreaking them on track???

Not changing mine. Did my best to convince myself I needed to, but actually, the circuit pack wheels are exactly to my taste for this car.
I didn't like the look, colour on white, difficulty to clean, width or offset. Plus nutters are paying 10% of the value of car for wheels so I was happy to replace with wheels just as good for 25% of the cost

Would be tempting to have 16'' gravel set - maybe some day..
I prefer 17" as a real world compromise between 18" Tarmac and 15" Gravel. 16" don't fit and also tyre choice isn't as good, also even for gravel consumer 16" tyres get too tall in the soft sidewall compared to a real hard side-walled 15" rally gravel tyre. So I'm good with 17"...

£1,800 for a circuit pack wheel. Per wheel. Driving around on them makes me, even sub consciously, lift off.
If they were £500 a wheel we would be taking a deep intake of breath and raising eyebrows but £1,800 is a complete piss take.
I like the OEM wheels but when I can get the same performance for a 1/6th of the cost, it's a bit of a no brainer (for me).

Bought a Set of 4 new OZ with new Goodyear eagle tyres less than the price of 1 circuit pack wheel without tyre. Makes sense to me with the state of the roads in the U.K.
OZ wheels were meant to be 10kg I weighed them at 8.4 or something so no performance loss over the BBS either
To be honest I quite like the gold wheels against the white too
