GR Yaris Who's still waiting

Yeah, Toyota BE/LU are pretty useless in that regard.

Are you picking up from Bertrange? The handover suite there is pretty decent as they use of for Lexus too, so hopefully a nice experience for you when it comes!
No, I will take it from Foetz.

it looks like they have no idea of the lead time ... now it's the new orders are closed but if not I would advise taking minimum 12 months into consideration...

To answer your message, I ordered mine, beginning of March 2022, in Luxembourg, they closed the possibility of ordering here, few days after! So I should get one of the last cars in Luxembourg.

I think you will be happy to know the following: I got the same estimated date, september 2022, then postponed to march 2023 and then august/september 2023.... but the good news is that the car arrived few days go at the dealer! Time to make the papers and I will go to take it in less than one week!
The latest update I received was "maybe October 2023".

At the moment I am still patiently waiting, and have no update at all from the dealer... I call every 2 months, but each time they tell me "you don't have to call, we will contact you" :cautious:

What colour did you order?

So I've just spoken to my dealer, respectfully kicked off, and said how dissapointed I am that customers of their halo car are being treated this way. I got a response that my car would 100% get built, and that the run of cars that mine is in has started production and my car is due to start production on September 20th. So after all that, I might still see my car!

I'm excited again now, the Yaris has been such a big part of my life and by extension my wife and 1 year old sons life. This car was ordered originally before my son was born, so its no surprise that one of his favourite words is Yaris..nothing to do with me of course!

My three year old is the same! Keeps asking when mine is arriving and losing his mind when he sees one on the road. Little does he know it will be kept for him in the future. I think my wife has had enough of me going on about waiting..

I'll have to get a photo of my little lad with his toy GR, he takes it everywhere! My plan is exactly the same, the GR will be my boy's one day!

In pearl white, you can see the photo here: https://www.gr-zoo.com/threads/first-toyota.4614/#post-74794

Ok keep going, latest at the end of the year you will have it. But still, it's not "polite" from them to treat a client such way...

After exactly one month, I received an update yesterday. The car has arrived in Belgium and survived the electric cars on the cargo ship. Must have been a fast ship because to my understanding four and a half weeks is a good time.

To my information, there are currently no Allied Troops from Britain or the US in Belgium on a mission against Germany, so I am quite confident I will receive the machine from our Japanese Axis confederate within the next few weeks.

And don't fear me, I will make only good use of the AWD in the Yaris bringing joy to the people. If I rush to the Ardennes, then the destination will be Spa-Francorchamps, and Spa-Francorchamps only.

And to the British readers here: Don't mention the war! Please. ;-)

Of course it did, since the last two fires blamed om them weren't caused by them, in fact not a single fire on cargo ships have been started by BEV's. Unfortunately how the news works, this news won't get anywhere near the spread of speculative news and near enough everyone will continue to think these cars catch fire, while the likelyhood of an e.g. Lambo catching fire is like 100x higher... So watch out for those ;)

On a side note ;)

I have no misgivings towards electric cars. I just think that the current battery electric car technology is two, three generations away from being suitable for cars. I just hope when the technology will be available, it will be affordable to people as well. When this day comes, I will still struggle that the cars will be differentiated by the software applications, and not the hardware anymore. Hopefully this will still create entertaining cars and not only clones for mass transportation.

@Duke Luxembourg won't be invaded. I do not have enough money on the bank account to bring personally to your country, and although coffee is cheaper at your place, I am too far away.

I remember when me and my wife went for a test drive... I think it must have been fate, because we didn't even consider Yaris. We were looking into I30N, Golf R, maybe a A35 AMG. I just wanted to know what all the hype was about. So I decided to stop by, because we were close to the Toyota dealership.

When we first came to the car she was like: "I don't know, it is too small, only 3doors..." You should have seen the smile when she drove it. Since then, we ordered ours and she is as excited as your little ones you mentioned. I just hope she will let me drive it too. 🙃

The dealer promised, that ours should arrive till half of September, so I also hope that it is already in Belgium! The tension is getting really high. I count every day! :)

At last - now you just have to decide if you will keep it or your other one? I'm a KB06 / June 2021 order and still holding on (just).
I’m a KB4 / July 2021 order. Have you had any recent updates from your dealer?

My current delivery ETA is the 10th November. I’m not holding my breath though!

Got another update on mine yesterday, moved to december 2023 (probably because of the software problems they had in several factories last week). I hope the next update will be that the car is going into production…
