I have been toying with the idea of the Pedalbox for a while now but just never got around to it.

However, DTUK / DTE have just launched the Pedalbox Pro which has a built in throttle immobiliser & it has got my interest. Details of it can be found in the link below:

For those of you running a Pedalbox, what are the main advantages, does it simply sharpen up the throttle response or is there more to it than this? They appear to have multiple modes, so do people take full advantage of these? Also, are there any negatives of running one?

I would be interested to hear feedback on these whether it be good or bad.

TIA for any responses

Today I installed the new Pedalbox Pro with the throttle immobiliser. The immobiliser side of it is fantastic, a theif might be able to start your car but they will face a dead throttle. The Pedalbox Pro functionality is excellent & you just struggle to put in to words how much difference there is in throttle response. Sport Plus on max feels like you've been strapped to a missile 😂

My reluctance to get one of these is I question if the throttle would become over sensitive and you'd bunny hop down the road when pulling away, or hitting a bump!

There are many individual settings & you can control each one. The difference between Sport Plus +3 vs City +3 are worlds apart. I ended up turning Sport Plus down to +2 as the throttle response is night & day vs standard.

I know the pedal can feel a bit sluggish at low rpm.

How about modulation? Is it easier to exactly meter out the desired power? Or is it simply a matter of being full throttle in the first 2mm of pedal travel in sport plus +3?

Maybe @Lauren can word it?

Ahh, aka the mid-90s Vauxhall throttle setting ;)

Never been convinced by the idea of these, but people seem happy enough with them.

Have you used the limit function be a handy way to have a valet map if leaving the car with a garage

Question on the throttle immobiliser on this Pro version. If you were to simply unplug it, would the throttle be back to normal?

I would be pretty certain that the answer is yes.
Was just thinking that any clued up thief would simply unplug it.

However having said that any additional security steps is always good.

I'm running the pedal box.. (was with tuning box, now with remap)

Some say its a bit gimmicky but it does work. Sport mode 0 takes away any dead zone in the throttle. It doesn't need to be set high to feel the difference. Good for round tight twisties.

Sport plus mode +123 is near undrivable... Cant even get off the drive, it's so sensitive. 🤣🤣

Not every thief is clued up & possibly wouldn't even think of checking the throttle pedal. However, as you say, any additional security is always good & may prevent a theft.
