Mine will be a daily and it might end up doing alot of miles, although I'm planning on keeping my Swift Sport, so they will share the 20-30K miles that I can do in a year depending upon the customers / projects that I work on.

Nope, will be used and certainly abused daily! First plan is a 3000 mile road trip around Europe followed by several track days before the end of the year.

It will be a daily driver for me and I won't be able to garage it, but I will have the paint detailed and ceramic coated in the first week, and then I'll keep the car looked after by doing a bi-weekly wash, including the undercarriage when the weather is bad or roads are salty.
Still debating whether I should pay someone to do the detail or do it myself. If I had a garage it would be a much simpler decision, as I've got almost all required tools already.

@beorg I'd spend the money and have someone detail it properly, not for the paint correction. But for the fact they could apply a proper 5 year ceramic coating, as most of the high quality ceramics require a 12h cure time without being exposed to the elements.
There are a couple of ceramic coating which have a shorter cure time, but generally they don't last as long.
As for my car, my current BRZ will probably end up as the garage queen, however I don't have a garage

You're absolutely right, the curation of ceramic coating is essential for the longevity of its finish and making sure no elements damage it in the meantime. My local detailer offers CSL & Exo application with glass , rims (faces only), upholstery, dashboard, doors & carpet treatement package for £700, do your reckon that's good value for the product?

I wfh full time with 1 or 2 days a month in the office so it wont really be used for commutes, only pleasure. That being said I am currently having a double garage built for it to live in. I wouldn't say its going to be treated as a garage queen though, I just want a garage regardless and intend to drive it as often as possible. It's probably getting a monthly hand wash.

An intriguing fact is that insurance premiums are generally higher if a car is garaged as opposed to parking on your driveway.

I've decided to detail myself from day one. Garage has enough space and need garage for the 12hr cure time for the wax. It's not ceramic but does last a good year or more and you can layer it too so I'll do 2 coats. The hard part will be wanting to drive it but taking almost 2 days to do it all and for it to cure. If I find I want to go ceramic in a year or two I can decide then. Still got loads of wheel waxes I can use too.

His is too. My cousin in Japan uses other products they do on his Toyota Rav4 and it's black but stays immaculate fairly easily.Have a friend that swears by that stuff and his cars are always immaculate
Detailing a new car is a nice feeling as in theory it's the best it will ever be. I really want to do that.

Was going to go down the PPF route, but looks a tad expensive, so will look into ceramic coating near the time of delivery.

Im going to garage it cause I have one. Putting a 120l water tank in garage so I can foam wash and jet wash down without messing around. Hopefully it will fit in without a intense squeeze. It's worth keeping as mint as possible. After all it's money when and if you sell it!
