GR86 Which colour to order?

Surely this means the same thing? If they have run out of colour then it’s discontinued?

It just sounds different. It gives the idea that they're going to continue selling the other colours, but the reality is that they had a certain number of each colour, and once those orders are met, they're not selling more. Also, if someone cancels an order (and they will), those colours will be un-discontinued.

I have been fortunate enough to get an invite to purchase in the UK, but as the colour choice is now down to grey, white or red i cant decide. I think white is top of the list but worried about others saying that the colour matching is bad between the plastic and metal panels.
I have only been able to see a black and a blue both of which are no longer available in the UK so doesn't make it any easier

1) Just place the order immediately. When they send you an email asking you to confirm, you also confirm the colour, and whatever colour you chose at first is irrelevant (the one I chose had gone by the time I had the chance to confirm). If you don't do this, you might miss out altogether.

2) Try and find somewhere close to you that has those colours, so you can decide. Check the list in post #1 here for a start: https://www.gr-zoo.com/threads/the-gr86-“the-orders-owners-list-gr86-register”.564/

I also checked what members here that live in my area, had the colours I was interested in. And I went on Autotrader and listed the cars in 'nearest first' order. I found that a dealer an hour and a half away had both a White demo car, and a Sapphire used car, so I could see the two cars I was considering at the same time.

PS - I didn't notice an issue between the paint on the metal or plastics.

Of those 3 I would go Red or White. I went Red, but would be just as happy with white it's a great colour.

I saw a grey and a white in the flesh today. The grey doesn't suit the black wheels to my eyes and would look much better with silver wheels.

The white from a distance looked great in the sun. Close up there was a lot of mismatched panels. And the ducktail spoiler was so bad it looked a different shade of white. When it was cloudy, the car looked more of a creamy off white. From 10 paces it looked great so depends how bothered you are by such things.

If it wasn't for football allegiances, I would go with red but I just can't have a red car...

The clear and obvious answer is to change football team. For the GR86 it's worth it.

I was unsure between the Sapphire Blue or the Grey. Ended up ordering the Grey as I thought the blue might be more ‘high maintenance’ to keep it looking good.
All I keep seeing now though is pictures of Sapphire Blue GR’s all looking good, which makes me doubt my choice a little!

Its the reason my original order was an hour later than it would have otherwise been, deciding between these two 😆
