I agree it's not Pearl just standard red. My red Leon after 15yrs, still looks pretty good. The one I drove wasn't pearl.. it was a flat red.... But modern paints have some sort of additive to prevent the UV degradation I think

Sorry, Ignition Red is a pearlescent paint, so is lacquered.

Toyota GR86: a sports car for purists
Introducing the new Toyota GR86, a rear-wheel drive coupe described by its enthusiast developers as an analogue car for the digital age.mag.toyota.co.uk
GR86 is available in seven different colours. Pearlescent finishes include Pearl White, Ignition Red, and Sapphire Blue Pearl. In addition, there are three metallics: Ice Silver, Magnetite Grey and Crystal Black. The Black metallic colour is free with the other metallic colours costing £645 and the Pearlescent colours costing £965.
The 2022 red 'Track B red' is a flat red I believe.
Interesting, is that why it looks almost red/orange in some light?Triggaaar is right, same colour just different names for different markets, track bRed, Ignition Red, Red, Pure Red, all the same, the paint code is DCK.
Its not pearl but uses Subaru's Tri colour paint, there are 2 different shades of red applied before the top coat, so it gives off a different hue under different light conditions.
It also widely known that red is the fastest colour and adds exactly 10bhp, fact.
For a moment, I doubted you and had a suspicion that this might not be true. But then I got to the end of the sentence and saw that you had written "fact", so I know it absolutely has to be.It also widely known that red is the fastest colour and adds exactly 10bhp, fact.
Damn it - I thought that's what "end of" meant. For a moment, I doubted you and had a suspicion that this might not be true. But then I got to the end of the sentence and saw that you had written "fact", so I know it absolutely has to be.
But you need to be careful of Cops playing Motorway Snooker as need lots of Reds :-( http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/422651.stmTriggaaar is right, same colour just different names for different markets, track bRed, Ignition Red, Red, Pure Red, all the same, the paint code is DCK.

Is it too late to cancel my Saphire Blue ! Actually my last speeding fine was in a White GT86 from a camera . When it came through it was at 82MPH and I was relieved it was not higherWhite cars don't get stopped for speeding.

Just seen this on FB. Make of it what you will..
UK GR86 is no longer available in blue, silver or black. All discontinued by toyota. Only colours now are red, white and grey - these are all cost extras to the car.
There is no no cost paint anymore.
Discontinued? They've run out of those colours for this order to the UK, that's all. Automatic will also continue to be available in the US etc.
