So for most of us we're 8-10 months into ownership and there have been plenty of items people have mentioned which have improved the 86 in your opinion? I wasn't going to performance mods as thats got its own threads/area but examples being from LED interior lights to changing the clutch spring etc...

Keen to understand:

What is the mod?
How much did it cost?
What improvement/difference does it make?
Other info?

LED lights inside and reverse lights - £15-£20. Interior looks better for it and reversing into a dark drive is far easier.
Focal speakers & Insulation ~ £170 all in. Do sound better but still full of cold so hearing isn't the best atm
Billetsportz weighted knob ~£110 from US - Nicer shift

This list could come in handy as I wouldn't mind some new bits for it.

I'll go first :)

What is the mod? Front end/skirts/rear bumper PPF + ducktail + front mudflaps (rear not fitted) + Rear Parking Sensors
How much did it cost? c£1100/350/400 + £475 fitted/painted + £169 + £0 Toyota Online Paid
What improvement/difference does it make? Seeing the stone chips appearing in the butter like paint, the PPF has protected key areas perfectly as well as the bird droppings which seem to melt the paint!
Other info? Bought but yet to fit the LED interior and reverse lights. TBC whether to change the clutch spring

Nice one, any sound improvement on speakers will be good, standard are adequate but average I think. And a well weighted knob, whats the downside :ROFLMAO:

Cobra Sport cat back exhaust (2nd hand) £700
HKS Foam intake element £38
All interior and reverse bulbs change to LED £~10
Carsifi - adds wireless Android Auto support

Front strut brace, with brake stopper, when I can afford it

Brake stopper, door stabiliser also on list. Eventually some braces and bushes for gearbox and diff but that's not until I own it outright.

- Clutch pedal Spring (~£25 I think) - makes the clutch pedal feel much more linear. Massive improvement in clutch feel.
- Clutch pedal adjustment (Free) - lowered the pedal so the bite point is lower to the floor. Further improvement to clutch feel.

- HKS L-Spec II exhaust ( ~£1500) - more vroom vroom noises. No performance improvement (except a fairly significant weight reduction).
- HKS Super Hybrid Panel Filter (~£47) - touch more induction noise, but no real performance improvement.

- Interior +reverse light LEDs (~£15?) - obvious.
- Carsifi (£75) - adds wireless Android Auto support.
- Focal IS165TOY speakers + sound insulation (£160) - decent improvement in sound in audio quality for relatively little effort or outlay (plug and play replacement).
- Trac Auto Folding Mirror Module (~£60) - folds the mirrors automatically when locking the car.

- Full paint correction + ceramic coating (~£1500) - expensive but makes washing the car so much easier. And looks outstanding.
- Mudflaps (£150 S/H) - obvious.

PENDING:
STI Transmission Mounting (£128) - a stiffened mounting bush for the transmission. Found it improved shift and throttle feel with the old car, and the part is apparently the same, so want to try it in the new car. Ordered, currently awaiting delivery from Nengun.com
Millers Gearbox Oil (~£18) - again, found that changing the gearbox oil in the old car really helped with shift feel. The new car is better in that regard, but the oil is cheap and easy to change out to see if it helps a bit more. Already have it in the garage, but will wait until the transmission mount is here so I can jack the car up and do it all at the same time.

Only other stuff I have planned is getting camber bolts and an alignment, but I guess that might count as performance.

****. Now I've written it all down, it sounds like a lot

EDIT: Forgot;

- Ducktail spoiler (~£480? Cant remember) - looks the nuts.
- Boot closing strap (£12) - obvious.
- Cusco pedal extension (£35 S/H) - makes me ever so slightly less awful at heel toe.

Carsifi Android Auto wireless adaptor
£75
....not arrived yet. Fed up with multiple cables dropping connection though so hoping this fixes the issue.

Pretty sure I'm going to invest in some matte carbon overlays for a lot of the interior as well. Now im using the car daily I don't like how easily the surfaces are picking up scuffs.

Some GR tyre valve caps (£3).
Boot strap (£12).
The superb Suit Hanging Solution mentioned elsewhere in this forum (£6).

Last of the big spenders, me.

Jdm rubber mats. Cant be dealing with waffa thin carpet ones. Got stung on import tax bah.

Waiting on some carbon trim from china for the scratchy transmission tunnel/gear surround. Bought the little armrest button as a trial and it looks/feels a zillion times better. Pucka carbon anarl unlike the TRD placcy stuff.

Hi @Conscript could you point me in the direction of the clutch items you bought (and any instructions to fit if they dont come with them) please? I think this is the main aspect holding me back from really enjoying the car, the clutch is just too on or off and something more progressive would help me a lot :) thanks

Take a deep breath and dive in here:

Key posts in that thread:
#5 is a video showing how to change the clutch spring.
#26 is where @ZN8 found a UK supplier for springs which are similar to the MTEC one. LC120M03S is the model number for the spring most similar to the MTEC, but I ended up taking an even weaker one that ZN8 didn't use, can't remember the exact one, think it was 75% lighter though.
#125 where @Bluemanc100 has bought 5 of the springs already and was selling them on, not sure if he's sold them all yet.

Thank you! Bed time reading sorted! ;)

Well, that just cost me for a new gearknob that I didn't know I needed! 😁👍
