I drive with TC and ESP off with sport mode, just because feel the car doesn't really need any traction control as its so stable in mid corner.

Sport mode because I like how car handles in corner exit. Maybe mid corner the track mode could be faster, but not really after times so sport mode handling is more logical.

Have seen few videos where experienced drivers drive with Expert mode. Not really undersand why but maybe it can save from sudden problems such as oil/coolant on track.. ?

Depends on the day to be honest. Expert or all off and then track or sport depending on track conditions. Sometimes track is faster, sometimes sport, do one of each and stick with the one that feels better and gives better times. No help I know. I did the odd normal mode with nannies on and it was significantly slower and crazy frustrating. Had nothing to do with having a conversation at the start line and forgetting to set the car up before launching... Ummmm. On a wet track expert and sport is fun.

Sport/Expert for me. Sport because I find it can start to push the front on corner exit if in Track mode. Expert mode just because I'm lazy and only have to push one button. Also never really have the TC cutting in with AR1s especially on a dry day. It also doesn't really do much to stop you sliding if you want to, demonstrated by a recent "drift" day I went to at Oulton Park.

I've found expert is faster, it reduces understeer and allows you to bury the throttle sooner. The best way I can describe it is imagine the front inside wheel pulling the nose into the inside of the corner. The more toque it has the better a job it can do of pulling the nose around.

Obviously geometry and car mods play a large part in the handling characteristics but thats what I've discovered through the last seasons time attack efforts.

Track and Expert. It just seems better balanced/grippier in Track, and any interventions the car makes are subtle to the point of being unnoticeable so why not leave it in Expert.

After doing 2,000 km battering around the Alps and learning to trust the car (and myself!) in that setup, I've switched from Sport for day-to-day driving too, unless on the motorway etc.

I’d read (on here I think) that track mode existed to keep the rear diff cool as long as possible, as it’s taking less load, 50% rather than 70%. There’s a video somewhere with the GR engineer talking about it in Japanese.

Without expert mode on the electronic nannies do weird things to the power output and handling, even on the road. It seems to cut power on corner exit and ruin the effect of the diffs on sharp corners. I thought my car was broken when I first experienced it.
