GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Took my little boy out for a spin today. He wanted to pop to the shops, told him that we’ll see if there are any big spaces (parent and child) otherwise we’ll have to pop home and get mummy’s car 😂

It was the first time I have parked it anywhere other than my drive. I am very paranoid.

So would I be parking there. F**k that poxy carpark. At least you have a big space though.

It's a nice day today comrades, so today I shall be cleaning the car. It's been a good few weeks since the last clean so it's well needed.

It won't be one of those 'touchless' detailing sessions either; I'll be touching it and everything.

*Looks over shoulder* there's quite enough touchlessness in my household as it is, thank you very much.

For some reason, this has made me chuckle a lot.

I assume you chaps are local to each other and are aware of said car park.

Might be worth checking the local Facebook groups (shudder) for the inevitable (or at least likely) "OMG someone with a sports car parked in the parent and child space I'm fumin' babe" posts.

And then share them on here for our amusement.

All done

As per his location, Alan is from Dartford, Kent. I was born in Dartford and grew up nearby (Stone). Recognise the carpark as a mate of mine used to work in the B&Q that it serves and I used to go down there and grab lunch with him sometimes. It was always just a really busy, tight carpark with tight angles and big kerbs and I hated it.

So today I did a few mods...

Added overlays to indicators , side of rear headlights and reverse light/fog.
Added my custom made badge. And debadged the GR and 86, was never a fan. Plus so many idiots are just adding GR to their GT86 and the whole GR Sport lineup just irritates me. Worthless having a GR badge imo.

Indicator (still visible well through the overlay imo):

Ha ha, that’s right in the middle of the Dartford, the old one way system that used to be a race track of a Saturday evening.

My boy loves tools (and cars) and would rather spend his pocket money in B&Q than Smyths. My dad used to be a builder and loves to take him into his garage to go through all the different tools.

He loves the GR86, never had a car before that feels like an experience just to take him out in. We just go for drives together and chat, making memories.

Indeed some tight corners, not helped by most drivers not caring about their cars. Everyone fights to park near M&S whereas the B&Q end is much quieter.

What a lovely, heart warming post this is.

Collected the car from Vinyl One this evening. Went back for side skirts and couple of other bits. Highly recommend for anyone in South East, the attention to detail is crazy.

I know the stripes aren’t for everyone. Was in two minds too, but glad I got them done, really complete the back of the car with black spoiler. Plus, they add 5 BHP too 😜

Off to Toyota to get the door ding sorted tomorrow! Wish me luck!! 🤞🏽

On Saturday I drove to Podium Place, it’s the first time I have been there and was a decent drive (1:15) to get some miles on the car, about to hit 700.
A friend had collected his GT86 after waiting 8 months for it to have an engine replacement, forge etc. Long story but let’s just say Abbey Motorsports have lost a valued customer for a job they quoted would take 55 hours.

Anyway his is silver and I finally got to see how different the colours were. Ice silver is definitely more blue.

20 bricks wide x 225mm (inc 10mm perp), so mouth is 4.5m, overall 5m 😉
My Electric up & over Garage door is 490, I cant remember if thats the size it came in or was ordered that size.
I do know my Garage is a good size wider than my neighbours as he cant get two cars in side by side & get out of the car!
I would always recommend to go as wide as possible.

I walk past this every morning when taking my little boy to school, lovely car
