GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Set an alarm for half five then went for a dawn raid.

First shot came out great, consideraing it was done with a phone. Thought I'd take a punt at putting into February's photo competition :)

Bought some new driving shoes. Another pair of Puma Drift Cats. Last pair of sued ones I've had over a decade and are the best driving shoes I've ever had.

Also got these. Lonsdale are chav but they are good to drive it and for £10 it was a no brainer and they match the car :ROFLMAO:
Had a look in my local shop to see if they had any in store, they only had size 6, they looked only fit for a ballerina! Ordered some in my size online, they didn't have any of the Lonsdale in my size in smurf unfortunately. Thanks for the heads up anyway. (y)
I have the suede speed cats so hope the drifts will be as good as those.

This is wonderful content

Actually looks better in flesh.. I am a lousy (and lazy) photographer. Yet to see other colors, but even when I do, I doubt I'd choose any other color over it.. esp after the ceramic coating. Ofcourse color choice is personal to everyone.
Just need to spice up the interior a bit now with some contrasting dash of red starting with the Billetworkz gear knob. Red brake callipers would be awesome at some point.

Magnetite Grey would have been my choice if I'd managed to place an order in time on 20th April.

Agree with the brake calipers in red, my F Type has large red brake calipers. Picture attached.

I got them from here, it's the light smoke on the taillights and dark LX+ on the reverse light.

Also my detailer is posting progress on instagram for the next couple of days if anyone wants to check it out: https://www.instagram.com/stories/dark_horse_detail/3032073149695992746/
Dammit, I just paid extortionate shipping $35 from that site last week. I should have ordered the reversing tint too.

I ordered the special edition stripes, although, I am in two minds and probably won't fit them. I opted for the black spoiler on electric blue, but I feel like it needs a bit more black to balance it out and the silvering on rear tints would drive me mad.

Ooh have you posted photos anywhere of your spoiler? So close to ordering one for my electric blue to go with black roof

Ahhh sorry, I meant I ordered with the dealer, its in Derby hopefully not too long.

Should be arriving at the dealers over the next week or two, will share some photos after handover.

Decided to replace the front and rear badge on my car and de-badge the GR86 from the rear of the car.
I dislike the asymmetry at the rear...

Plus, why didn't these idiots use the 86 logo? I can't beleive they put Arabic numerals "86" when they actually took the time to design a logo that was incredibly well received!

So here's the metal badge cut. It will be polished and then painted gloss black, and backed onto real carbon fibre. The second picture is what it should look like (albeit, not a lexus logo haha)

$160 and about 3-4 weeks lead time.

Public confession - I managed to kerb a wheel in the first 200 miles

What I didn't realise was that matt black wheel couldn't be touched up and the whole wheel was re-painted. The colour should calm down I was told but not a major concern as I will be getting the wheels re-painted as I am not a fan of black wheels (to silver or matt bronze).

Used a mobile service - 2 hours.

Now to stay clear of kerbs.

Oh wow, you really did a good job of curbing that wheel! Wow. Like 40% of it haha. So frustrating, but glad you're choosing to go another colour anyway. Makes it a bit more palatable.

I confess I also kerbed it at some point in the last 1500 miles and I have no recollection of doing it - just noticed it the other day. I didn't do it quite as well as you though.

@my_first_toyota , if we were running a competition for kerbed alloys you would be leading “longest” category ☹️ I’m also not a fan of the Matt black OEM finish so looking forward to seeing how yours turn out 👍

That is surely the longest kerb mark so far. I think I’d have been tempted to kerb the other half and claimed the silver ring was an OEM feature 🤣
