Here’s one with white wheels and a white roof wrapMan! This electric blue is growing on me with each passing day. Wondering if I should have gone for it over Magnetite Grey (was split across the two while ordering) - still not seen one in person so keeping fingers crossed.
Can count on one hand the times it's driven on dry roads. Economy suffers two fold. It's worse because the constant wind and rain. Then on the rare occasion it's dry I push a bit to see what it does.I just want to know how everyone is taking pics of their car while it’s dry!?
Since I picked mine up the other day, I’ve had about 8 whole minutes where it hasn’t rained.
Same! Had the car a month now, and I've yet to drive it when:Can count on one hand the times it's driven on dry roads. Economy suffers two fold. It's worse because the constant wind and rain. Then on the rare occasion it's dry I push a bit to see what it does.
Going in for that next week. Back on the bike for a bit.Same! Had the car a month now, and I've yet to drive it when:
- The roads weren't frosty/icy.
- It hasn't been p1ssing with rain.
- It's not pitch black.
- I can go over 4K RPM
-...or a combination of the above.
At the moment, my primary enjoyment is sitting and watching the rain bead off the ceramic coating![]()
Totally!! My enjoyment currently comes from walking in to the garage, seeing it there and remembering I still have it! All the fun back roads are flooded round here and even snow on the forecast next weekIf only the car's had been delivered not longer after they'd arrived, eh?
I might have had it in late September. Still warm, dry and light enough for plenty of morning drives![]()
Is there drilling involved in fitting the 4 splashguards then? I bought some but haven't looked how they fit yet, wanted the PPF doing first as I assumed the parts bolt to an existing hole and would get in the way of the PPF if I fitted them first.Dropped my car off for the mudflaps to be fitted at the dealer today. Was quite anxious about leaving the car with them for some drilling, so I took pictures of the car and my dashboard beforehand, and very explicitly asked them not to wash it as it's going for a PPF install on Monday.
The anxiety will probably never truly go away, but they've done the service well and without any issues. The flaps fit nicely and really compliment the car's looks without standing out. For £178 fitted they seem like a bit of a bargain compared to the cost of other GR parts.
The aero stabiliser cover will be fitted over the weekend, and I'm ordering the ducktail spoiler and the cargo net from the parts department to fit them myself in a couple of weeks hopefully.
Got a compliment on the car from an older gentleman parked next to me and a few visitors at the dealer, so that was nice.
Yes, but you're only drilling through the plastic. Is there drilling involved in fitting the 4 splashguards then? I bought some but haven't looked how they fit yet, wanted the PPF doing first as I assumed the parts bolt to an existing hole and would get in the way of the PPF if I fitted them first.
It has an adhesive tape pre-installed on the back. How's does the aero stabiliser (jfc) attach to the car? I don't like the gap between rear screen and boot lid.
Nice summary @OPC100Oh my god! I love this car. I did a 300 mile round trip from Dorset to Northampton and back again today. 15 hour day, including work.
But due to the type of car that it is, it was non-stop both ways and I still felt fresh. Not too hyperactive, to make me feel tired and not too refined to make me fall asleep.
What a car. It was semi-dry on the way up and dry on the way back. Just taking it easy as up to about 400 miles now, but it's such a 'momentum car'. Approaching bends, or roundabouts, it just flows. This car is really good for the soul / my mental health.![]()

Not a GR86 as I'm still waiting for mine but I took my Japanese front engined rear wheel drive car out today as well
