GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Arrived today, which is pretty impressive considering I only ordered on Friday and it came from Japan. Handy, because it means I can test it on my commute this week.

Wasn't expecting much more than just a pad wth some double sided tape but to be fair, it's pretty nice quality. The lower part is plastic and moulded to the shape of the centre console, fitted with pre-attached Velcro strips rather than just 3M, so you can remove it easily if needed. Height feels just right for resting my left arm with a loose grip on the wheel when cruising. Only downside is the stitching is red rather than silver like the rest of the interiors, but I'll live with that for the price.
I did a thing today. The red stitching was annoying me so I flexed my artistic side. Popped into Hobbycraft and picked up a silver paint pen, then used it to painstakingly colour the stitching by hand. It's by no means perfect - I evidently don't have steady hands, so I had to go back and gently scrape off any 'overpsray' which got onto the leather, and there's also some hints of the red still showing through, so it looks a bit scrappy if you scrutinise it. And the colour is still not exactly the same as the OEM stitching in the rest of the interior...but it does at least stand out a little less than it used to, and look more OEM at a glance.

Everybody knows that if you'd have poked your tongue out whilst doing your 'colouring in', it would have been absolutely perfect 😄
You would not believe how hard I was concentrating. Nearly burst a blood vessel.
Should have farmed the work out to our Tamiya owning forum members.

That was by mistake! I got most of the way around the car before I realised I wanted to use the fallout remover. I wasn't too fussed as I thought if the panel was clean it would be more effective. Normally I would spritz it with the fallout remover first then wash the car. It seems to have had the same effect in restoring the coating, afterwards the water sheeted off to the point there was very little to dry.

This was the guidance I was given on how to maintain the ceramic coating:

Interesting video - I always apply fallout remover to (dry) wheels and lower areas on the car, then move onto citrus pre-wash and snow foam afterwards.
Might apply to my windscreen next time to see what's there.

I tried to drop off the car at the dealership for its second service. But was told there is no appointment in the system and an oil filter was also not ordered eventhough i explicity ask to order it early. Now I have an appointment for next week. Let's see
It seems its not a exclusive Toyota UK Service problem

Think this issue is defo dealer disorganisation.
I had my first service carried out last Saturday and no problems with filter. I even marked the filter to see if they changed it. It was.

The thing is, I was at this dealer for the taillight recall and back then they were very professional. Maybe thats why I am a little disappointed.
Mistakes happen, could be a single error and I was just unlucky. I'll see how the service turns out, next week.

Hibernation time: Plugged up to the Noco Genius 10. Added Fuel Preservative. Gave a good going over with Gtechniq W4 Citrus Foam, W5 Citrus APC and Carpro Reset. Dried with a Gtechniq MF4 and Bigboi BlowR Pro touchless dryer. Applied a layer of 'temporary' Xpel PPF to the spoiler's rear edge and to the roof sharkfin aerial before making it cosy under a set of individual wheel covers and my Classic Additions Ultimate Outdoor Cover. Hail cover is at the alert-five if I need it. Next time it's turned out will be in February for the annual service. Night Night Njörðr
