GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

I had a little heart attack today...

But in the end I was lucky πŸš”πŸ™ˆ

Well I experienced the opposite today, where I was actually stopped for the first time for speeding (on a smaller b road outside of any towns) - totally avoidable but it is what it is.
At least the officer was nice and complimented the car, and acknowledged that he understood it could be hard not driving a little fast πŸ˜…

Just returned from a trip to Scotland; spotted my first two GR86s in the wild, a fellow grey who passed us on the M6 (or maybe 74?) on Saturday, and an electric blue in Perth on Monday which almost has me regretting my colour choice πŸ˜…

Finally took the cover off the car; drove to several B&M stores around the kingdom before finding the necessary paint (by order of SWMBO); got home and changed out the blue show car mats for my black ones; ate the last of my wild strawberries whilst wiping bugs from the number plate. #RockstarLife πŸ˜†

Off work and a couple of day trip / road trips.

Horseshoe pass at Llangollen in Wales. Picturesque short route (40 limit). Pause at Ponderosa cafe. A488 from Shrewsbury to Snead was a fun drive on my route to get there too.

Then another sunnier day drove Woodhead and Snake passes in the Peak District. Love this whole area. Kick started with a late breakfast at Chatsworth farm shop - highly recommend!

Looks great @Shoggy !

That's quite a small offset , does that pretty much force you to use 215 tyres (or use adjustable arms on the rear to add camber)?
Thanks 😊
We knew from another guy that he is driving the same wheels with 215 Pilot Sport 4 tires, so we assumed that this a safe variant and did not even bother to experiment with 225. I guess it was the right decision because in the end there was just enough space for a sheet of paper at the rear axle when doing this test. (What the heck is it called in English? I have not even found a translation that sounds right to me.)

That's a really nice dish on those wheels. how close are you to the aero tab on the rear wheel arch? would like to see a few more pics of poke / clearance etc

Just got hit by a lumbering spunktrumpet in a mini bus.. who drove off without stopping.

I cashed him caught him and said "you've just hit my car", he replied "no I didn't I just clipped the wing mirror"

Its cosmetic damage to the mirror cover, but I want it repacing as the car has done less than 4,000 miles.

Anyone want to hazard a price guess from the dealers?

For extra bonus points, the milk leaked on the passenger seat on the way back.

Might as well replace both with carbon fibre to make you feel better.
The other half has already send a link for some, but there were GT86, bless her.

For the sake of others searching, drivers side mirror cap in black is Β£100.42 including VAT from Toyota

If he pays it'll be a miracle, he also said "who is to say you weren't moving too"?

FYI. I bought two, oem, painted mirror covers from japanparts for Β£57 inc postage. Took a couple of weeks to arrive.

That's when you kick his mirror off and say, "who's to say that's not from when you hit my car?"

I noticed a stone chip on my mirror cover, so glad to hear they are obtainable.

Honestly, this is more worrying. Make sure you get it thoroughly cleaned out quickly, else in a a few days of this heat, you may as well scrap the whole car due to the smell.

was thoroughly wiped with a damp then dry cloth.

Fair play to the chap earlier, hes already send the money for a new mirror cover!

Ordered 997 GT3 brake cooling ducts for about Β£6 for the pair plus shipping. Must be the cheapest component on the car beyond basic nuts and bolts!
