GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Dropped it off to change the vent. Took tech out of a spin to see if door made a noise and as it would be it didn't.

Courtesy car is this. Peak NPC car. What you drive when you've given up. It's a hybrid auto and apart from being good on crap roads, there's nothing to like. When you have a bad day, the GR86 makes everything better. If I had one of these I'd be an alcoholic.

I received and set-up my wireless android auto 'dongle', which is nice. Works well, but I think the phone will need power when on a longer drive.

Car is booked into the dealers, next Monday, to have my headlight washer 'nozzle' assembly and cover replaced. It's taken since the start of March for the parts to arrive (apparently).

Well thats not how I was planning to spend my Tuesday evening, got home from work only to find out my brother has two, yes two punctures, on his drivers side wheels. Wheels removed and swapped onto my spare set. Now to hope that the local tyre fitters can fix them in time for Japfest.

On the flip side, atleast it gave us an idea of different wheel fitment.

More drama this morning trying to get the tyres sorted. I took both tyres to the local ATS Euromaster, only to be told they can't repair the two tyres, as the punctures are too close to the edges 😠. So after checking the price for two new Michelin PS4's in store, which was approx £380 fitted, I opted to order new ones from ATS online to be fitted on Friday, great I though as they also have free fitting discount on Michelins at the moment which dropped the price to £260ish.

After returning home I receive a call from ATS (about 15 minutes after I left), they inform me that "they" cant get PS4's in the stock GR size until May at the earliest 🤬, depsite the system letting me order them.

Half an hour later after scambling round online, I managed to ordered some from Blackcircles to be delivered to ATS on Friday 😌 However Blackcircles charged £100 more than ATS did for fully fitted tyres😭

Just FYI mate, if you’ve paid £360 for 2 215/40s, I’ve just ordered 4x 225/40s for the new wheels for a similar price, and better tyres too.

There’s a big argument for going up to 225s on the stock wheels for that reason.

At the moment we wanted to keep the wheels and tyres the same.
Also due to the fact it is Japfest this weekend, need to get it sorted ASAP.

If it wasn't for Japfest we'd swap all 4 wheels onto my spare set and run them, whilst the ATS order came in. I personally don't think the 17" look right, atleast at stock ride height.

215s are a pain, you have alot less choice in compounds and they are significantly more expensive, had the same for my Mrs old Swift sport.
 
Today my GR86 got a new rear spoiler. With the J-Speed rear wing the lifting force of the rear (60 kg at 200 km/h measured by SportAuto) is reduced by 45 kg according to J-Sport. This is noticalble when driving at speed. The car feels more stable and clings better to the road, my bum meter feels less nervousness. Recommended. Can be bought at J-Sport Automotive Gmbh, Toyotaallee 2, 50858 Köln, Germany and comes with all paper work to make it road legal in Germany.
