GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Although I already have an oil filter, washer etc., I thought I'd buy a 'Toyota GR86 Service Kit' from Toyota Direct Parts which, in their sale, is currently going for £79.62 (plus £6.98 delivery) and consists of the following genuine Toyota parts:

Oil Filter SU003-08412
Sump Washer SU003-02159
Air Filter SU003-09025
Pollen Filter 87139-YZZ73
0W-20 Oil 1x 5ltr 08880-86294

This will certainly ensure that come February's full service at my local JDM specialist that I won't suffer from the dreaded "sorry, no oil filter" issues which seem to plague some stockists. I know you can get Miller's EE for cheaper but, for those in the market for proper OEM stuff, given that the Toyota branded oil can set you back in the region of £60-80 on it's own, this kit seems like a bit of a win?

Thanks for this! Its a bargain (I am from Yorkshire) just ordered one now for service due in January. (y) (y)

I'll order a kit soon and it service end of November. But early but I have time off then and roads won't be salty yet. Still need to decide on either 0w-30 or 5w-30 for next change

Back in UK as I wind my way back from Toulouse to Copenhagen. Car took a few thumps on trip so I thought I would go to Abbey Motorsport for alignment. Pleased to understand all was still good, although I confused the folks there by having all my bags and duty free in the boot which pushed the rear into the red zone. Once luggage removed all was great! Surprised at the difference made… but a great spot by them!

I am slightly addicted to how it feels just after Abbey have done their tweaks…. Just wish they were a bit closer to home!
Fairly sure yours will be the only 2nd gen BRZ in the UK right now! Nice!

Finally

oh I'm sorry. I was lucky. I had changed my bonnet for a half carbon/FRP one a few weeks before and thought It would have had the same problem but looks OK

How is the fit of your bonnet without pins? Does it feel as secure as your original one? Have you fitted a secondary latch or cable? It does look good without pins.

Honestly I haven't driven it much since fitted, sacrilege I know but we have a new family member.
Have not fitted anything else to make it more secure, I just can't tell right now if it is needed.

After a somewhat traumatic day at work on Thursday which should have finished at 3:30pm meant actually leaving work at 9pm..

Drove through some surface water which I thought was just about passable..
Made it through and all the way home without issues.
Worked from home on Friday (a rare occurrence)
This morning, decided I should check the oil and there appears to be some water there
Haven’t started the car and have called the AA, don’t want to put any further risk into the equation..
(I noticed that the oil didn’t behave as it should normally, the drip spread out and soaked into the tissue and I noticed it didn’t look right on the dipstick either)

Awaiting the AA to show up, hopefully they can suction remove it all & can get it booked in for an fresh fill of oil, filter etc at a dealership or a another garage..
