GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

The sky's blue and the weather is mild, so I've just fitted the strut brace. Easy job, 4 x nuts on each side and the only fiddly bit is the brake stopper, but even that only 5 mins extra.

Then a good clean and applied a coat of Soft99 Fusso to try and give it some protection before winter

Bloody hell! Proper brown trouser moment, glad to hear you, the dogs and the car came out unscathed, scary moment for sure, I'm glad it nestled itself into some grass as opposed to anything else.

Perhaps an entry for this month's photo competition? Captioned "you can't park there mate"
Character building, that's the way you have to look at these things. Well I have all my life and never learned from any of them πŸ˜πŸ‘

Yeah, true. I am still feeling a bit sick though. I'm a long way from home, so if it's undrivable I could get it recovered to my parents for now, but then it's going to be stuck there for the foreseeable. I'm going to have to go back in the morning to assess the damage in the light. Really, really hoping it just needs pulling back onto solid ground. Think I might go cry myself to sleep now.
Having done equally stupid things, (such as hitting a Peugeot in my McLaren because I forgot what side of the road I was supposed to be driving on, whilst being 600 miles from home, or the time I thought I could get into a tight parking space and ended up kurbing my wheels on my new car, and had to call my old man to extract it for me before I did any more damage!). Dont be so hard on yourself.

Shit happens and we all make mistakes, just be incredibly thankful that you (and pups) are all okay. People make equally silly mistakes and lose so much more. Yes, you might feel stupid but you were able to walk away from it, and you’ll be more careful next time.

You will be okay, I hope the recovery goes well and the car is fine!

Back from Europe today. Great trip, the Black Forest and the Ring were fantastic as always.

6 weeks into ownership and just clocked over 4,600 miles. Brilliant little machine.

That's a proper run in. Oil, filter and transmission oil change if you intend keeping it. I know I'm going to, the parts and oil are already in the garage 😁

Awesome 😍

I'll definitely be doing a Euro Trip next year in mine..... Did a week trip this year in my Golf GTi Performance with several friends which was epic. In the GR I think it will be another level πŸ’―πŸ–€πŸ€β€οΈ

Booked it in for it's first service next week, at Abbey Motorsport, along with camber bolt installation and full alignment. Have also asked if they could give the suspension a once over just in case my excursion into the undergrowth has caused any untoward damage....

When are you there? Might be a repeat of KDS. I'm booked in for Tuesday 9am.

Today, Postie delivered another item of clothing for the GR86 box! This time a zipped (sweathshirt type) jacket with an embroidered motif. Along with a pair of AliExpress drivers knee pads in Faux Leather. We're gonna need a bigger box ... 🦈
