GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Today's little win. I am completely useless with tech but desperately wanted better temperature displays when warming up. I now have coolant, oil and transmission temperatures! This is totally customisable from any data that the Torque Pro app can extract from the car. And all for less than £10! (Torque Pro app and cheap eBay obd dongle)View attachment 26461
Am I right in thinking only android auto for torque pro?

found a nice little road near woburn not fair from where I live that winds through abit of woodland, shame that gate wasn't open looks like a good mud rally stage 😄

Fitted Focal component kit up front and the coax kit in the rear. Finally Dynamatted the rear arches, quarters, and floor while the seats were out, and the difference is unbelievable.

Speakers sound fantastic considering it’s a straight swap with no amp. Road noise reduction is huge, exhaust sounds even better inside the car now too. Happy (Easter) bunny here.

Details on the soundproofing please!

Went for a lovely drive. 13c, sunny, dry roads.

Broke some roundabout speed records (not officially)
Got photographed
Kids yelled "Yellow car!" and punched each other
Raced a Volvo
Stopped for some ice cream
Good times!

Thought I’d taken some photos, but it started to rain.

Basically I had the back seat out, so just went round tapping the metal with my fingertips. If it sounded like a baking tray, I cut out a piece of Dynamat and stuck it on to reduce the resonance. It’s improved road noise quite a bit for me, and the speakers sound great now.

The front doors are really worthwhile doing IMO, with the speaker out, tapping the door skin behind resonates through the whole thing. Just a couple of squares behind the speaker dampens it nicely.

You could do a lot more, but I was focussing on dampening resonance rather than a futile task of soundproofing the whole thing.

I visited the Yaris in hibernation and somehow had a brain fart. I then went straight to the Hyundai dealer and ordered an I20N. That will be my new daily driver:). Why this spontaneous idea? My brother told me that Hyundai doesn't want to make any more combustion engines in the N segment and I need a new daily anyway... so like with the GRY Yaris and all Evo's etc. I made a decision in 5 minutes and went through with it. I've never regretted it:). Hopefully it will be the same again, fingers crossed

i20N must be a fun commuter!
I hope so:).

Unfortunately I have to part with my Mitsubishi. So many cars have come and gone. Racing cars, sports cars, e-cars.... all sorts of things, but one was always by my side... my beloved 21-year-old Mitsu station wagon. It sounds stupid but it hurts me and I'm taking the risk by overstaying the MOT. Thank you Mitsubishi, the car hasn't had a single breakdown in 21 years. Pure love❤️🚘.

Unfortunately it is now completely rotten at the bottom... :(All good things come to an end.

My Dog is crying too:(.

On the subject of commuting I started a new job today and used mine for the 120 mile round trip. Probably not going to repeat it in the Yaris as will already need to fill up again after tomorrow! Scanning Autotrader looking for a hybrid now (we might go OG mk3 Yaris to replace the i20 when it dies). I’ve always had a soft spot for the CRZ so wondered if a cheap one of those would do and might even be sporty enough with some small adjustments to make it a bit of a simple project too.

Impressed with the scientific approach.

It's something I've thought about doing, but it'll probably remain a thought...
