GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Used it instead of the van to go pick up another bottle of welding gas. Straps from central seat hinge to Isofix mount worked well - some enthusiastic driving involved and the bottle didn't move a bit!

I gave mine a much needed wash then saw its alter ego in a car park (below). I do question how helpful it is though as my skills are lacking quite a bit in the detailing part, so I guess it’s largely cosmetic. Not like the car is going to self destruct if you don’t wash it but it gets to a point where I just get bored and give up! Maybe I’ll book it in for a proper clean soon.

Had a go at touching up one of the wheels with some black paint after maybe taking a corner too close.
Seems to hide the damage and it won't need refurbished. It'll soon be covered in brake dust anyway.

- bled the coolant system as there appeared some air - worth checking if you have drained the coolant at some point.
- protected the aircon(?) hose that was contacting the TB - weldspeed intake not 100% fit so check that hose out.

Tomorrow some driving via Ouninpohja and Päijälä, I'll try to make a friend picture at Yellow House jump

I drove past a group of young lads who were signalling me to make some noise yet I have a standard exhaust lol 😶‍🌫️ :ROFLMAO:
Maybe catch me in my Focus RS with full Milltek exhaust next time guys but my GR Yaris is a quiet standard sleeper that catches people out lol! 😅 😁

"Picture at Yellow House jump"?! 🙏
Had a client visit yesterday so made a detour via few historic rally stages.
that Ouninpohja road is just out of this world.. videos don't do justice on the road profile, crests and jumps are rather big..
Even driving regular traffic speeds it was really enjoyable to make those turns and crests. Got only one car coming to opposite direction so quite peaceful roads actually.

Regarding GR:
Had forgotten how epic machine this car is on twisty gravel roads. honestly its the most hilarious thing. Was giggling out loud in the car while driving.
Not sure if it is because lack of skill or what, but how well the car behaves on those twisty turns is just marvellous. It rotates beautifully and is so nible.
Makes me want to get better underbody protection and some nice gravel suspension and forget everything else...

If you haven't tried GR on gravel, put it in your list.

Yeah, I’ve messed about a little on gravel and it is a hoot, but the noises and the thought of what’s happening underneath means it’s a bit of a 😬
yeah, some stones flying. proper underside protection is maybe good idea if doing it more frequently...

Bugger!

Annoyingly - no thanks to Google Maps - I genuinely thought I was in a 40 zone and was glancing confidently down at the speedo when the camera flashed. The speedo must over-read quite a lot, which is a good thing I guess.

Hopefully I'll get an awareness course rather than points 🤞

Bugger..

When I've compared it to GPS speed on phone or Dragy, I find the car speedo only over-reads by 1-2%, much less than older cars.

Be careful out there, peeps!
