GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Wanted to drive it today but it's blocked in by the missus' MX5 and that wouldn't start this morning.

As an aside, I've been in 9 countries abroad so far this year (very unusual for me) and didn't see a single GR in any of them. Oddest thing i saw was a Yaris saloon in Barbados that looks about the same size as a Corolla

Other oddity in Barbados was a Merc with a Curburgring sticker

I'll try and get the GR out by the weekend...

Took the old exhaust off (38 miles old), applied copious amounts of ACF50 to the underside and then replaced the exhaust with a heftier version. productive day

Are you hiring? Instead of a car allowance, can I have a parking space similar to yours as part of my employment contact? Looks like you're in good company (see what I did there ?).

It's standard issue, mate. We're allocated a sports car of our choice, and a parking space bigger than my living room upon arrival.* Maybe have a word with your employers and see what they can do?

Got my car serviced (6k miles intermediate - now coming up to 18k miles).

On the way, noticed that Android Auto has updated. I have Carsifi, so not a massive change, but some nice new features.

Got the car serviced - safety check.
They also fixed a couple of things as well for no extra charge. One of the under trays was loose and clattering occasionally.
I asked them to check and adjust the windows as well. They fixed the mechanism so that the window wasn't catching at the top.
They provide a video of the work done, with the technician explaining everything.

It looks like the recall was done as well and I swear it has a bit more power / torque than before.
Is there another software upgrade?

Mines in for it's first 6 Month Safety Check at 3 months as I like driving it. My under tray also seems a little loose so will get that checked too. Slightly wonky number plates as well, but other than that it's well screwed together. What is the recall for? I like the idea of a bit more power/torque!

The 6-month safety check is still at 6 months.

I do about 1k miles a month, so have a full or intermediate service every 6 months. The safety check happens at the same time.

The recent recall was related to the front sensor (behind the badge).

No, the services are annual - or 6k miles if that's sooner. The safety checks would be done every 6k with the services in that case.

Mine was for the SOS system but this was incidental, as I brought it in for the safety check. Toyota UK fine the franchise if they don't do any outstanding recall work. Strange, as I didn't get a recall notice.

Interesting to see odd variants of European models in other countries. When I worked for Ford I’d see Chinese market Escort development cars driving around Dunton. Fairly different to the Escorts we know here.
