GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Glad you enjoyed Cefyn Bryn. Gower is very busy these days (esp. in summer) and all 40mph now, so won’t be going for drives there much.

I’ve been in Wales two weeks now. I tried to reply to this thread back then but internet was playing up as 4G mast was down from a storm (country life eh?).

I’m loving the driving so far. I’m just heading off in random directions and finding great roads. Helps that you have them to yourself of course!

Yesterday I discovered this beautiful bit of singletrack that snakes up from Ammanford to the Black Mountains. Got to this car park at the top and it’s obviously driving Nirvana up here, it was performance cars and sports bikes everywhere and even guys waiting on the hairpins getting photos of oversteer moments. I had to disappoint here as a) had my doggos in the front seat and b) didn’t fancy being the English nobhead binning the GR in front of the locals.

There were sections of this road that the GR was made for, narrow twisting undulating tarmac where the 4wd was actually necessary, it felt so good.

I also really noticed this thing that many owners have mentioned, the suspension works better at a higher speed, it seems to just float over the bumps and ruts, feeling a bit lumpen and crashy at typical (stuck behind someone) speeds.

On the way back (whippet driving), this is a rare straight bit.

As this is the ‘What did you do to your GR Yaris today?’ thread, and I’ve gone massively off-topic, I washed it when I got back.

Boring.

Any other owners in Swansea area/South Wales want to meet up? Are there any Caffeine & Machine type places around these parts?
That’s the road top gear used to use a lot years ago. I loved the road back in the Subaru and evo days but have only been up there once in the Gr
There’s a cafe in Llandovery, the owls nest, often a load of bikes and sometimes groups of cars there
I’m in Swansea , pic incase you see me about

Those pictures and views look epic ! Another Road to add to the list next time I visit Wales 👍

Almost wet myself overtaking a cyclist as the engine has not fully warmed up.

I did not, as rule 163 recommends, "move quickly past the vehicle you are overtaking", much to the disappointment of myself and the approaching Range Rover.

What did I do? = Drove it. Still crazy fast in standard form and surprises a load of other cars on the road LOL! :ROFLMAO:
I've only ever been smoked off of the lights ONCE by a car and of course it was a silly toy electric car... :sneaky:
Yes they can go fast in a straight line but that's it, I'd rather have the GRY for those fun corners! :p

That’s insanely shiny!

Sticky should do some hexagonal pinstripe decals. Get that fresh from the detailers look with zero effort/expense. 😁
Really pleased with it. Hats off to Levi at LDS detailing in Arundel , excellent service , he even came and picked me up this morning to take me to the his studio to collect the car . Highly recommend him 👍

Zero effrort dunno, must be a PITA getting those to sit properly on the inside of your windshield...

Gave it a bit of a lame attempt at a hands-free wash ahead of the Tweeks meet tomorrow, as my buckets and washing stuff are in a different country 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

It’ll do 😊

Looks good :)... but I wonder about the MAF tube region: it seems to be smaller than original, which be may mess with the readings???...
It's pretty much the same diameter. Good long length of straight tube for accurate readings too. Definitely isn't making any less power!
