GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

All pads and discs were replaced at 10,000 miles on my Gen1, having not been driven for 3-4 weeks, they had all bound on, took a fair bit of power to break free, but they were ruined, truly awful vibrations under any kind of braking, which did not wear off, the dealer found a notice regarding the issue buried deep somewhere and replaced them all under warranty, really impressed with the dealership, Snows Waterlooville, highly recommend them if you're in Hampshire

Got 90k km service done, fresh from doing 2,800 km round the Alps and Italian lakes.

I fitted a new set of Pilot Sport Cup 2 just before setting off (awesome!) so with the new brakes done the week before now nicely bedded-in the thing is in pretty good fettle for now.

Just did MOT on a members car, the black GR MK2, that i have posted before. As i have an exhaust to quickly swap he chose my services.
But we also noticed front pads were critical, although where he recently serviced they said all was fine for 10 more k. Which it definetly is not. Luckily MOT guys had a sporting interest in the car, and after counting together all the reference numbers for the ledbar, all i got luckily was a verbal warning that front, especially left pad will soon be metal to metal. Anyway, owner aint happy and and already contacted the retailer involved with a complaint, i also had a voice recoding from the MOT person mentioning this so it is just not out of thin air.

I thought both the gen1 and gen2 had wear indicators on the pads.

Just finished my 30k km service, also on original pads but I got recommendation for new pads for front discs at next service. Never tracked the car but to be honest I have preeeetty fun, twisty road on my way to work with 1 hard braking zone

Mine is gen 1 and has no wear indicators.

Mine is Gen 1, (but GEn2 have same brakes). On the OE pads, the wear indicators are on the inside pads only. Because the inside pads wear down slightly quicker than the outside pads.

I drove mine but I’m furious with Autoglass as there’s a big rattle from somewhere behind the dash when I hit bumps. Im certain it wasn’t there before the windscreen was replaced and when they left all the crap from the old one all over the place without cleaning up after themselves. Might need to wait til next service and ask the dealership to take the dash apart and see if anything fell down there. I’ve had everything out the glovebox and it’s not from in there, it’s like it’s coming from where the screen is mounted. If you are in the M4 corridor area and need a windscreen replaced then I’d avoid the Swindon branch like the plague.

Ok this is now…Solved! There is definitely debris in the dash as there’s a crackly sort of rattle between the various panels, but that’s not the main issue. The big rattle is actually coming from the plastic module where the rear mirror attaches. It needed a passenger with me to diagnose this / hold various bits of trim whilst I aimed for bumps deliberately. Still something they removed and ideally would’ve re-fitted properly (might be one of the clips), but at least it doesn’t need the dash to be taken apart. Phew.

On topic, ordered some different colour mudflaps for mine (red) so will fit those and get the spare wheels repainted for winter (maybe gold, currently anthracite) in the next month as part of a little 4 year refresh. Tempted by some black ppf arch panels too, but might be a step too far.
