GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Morning exercise: replaced rear pads for Yellowstuff. I'd say there is at least 20t km in them still (they have done like 40k), but dealer wanted to replace them 2 years ago already. I guess somebody already noticed the small scraper on the inside pads which is probably the acoustic wear indicator.
Pistons went back easily by hand. 30 mins + 15 min test run.

I drove mine but I’m furious with Autoglass as there’s a big rattle from somewhere behind the dash when I hit bumps. Im certain it wasn’t there before the windscreen was replaced and when they left all the crap from the old one all over the place without cleaning up after themselves. Might need to wait til next service and ask the dealership to take the dash apart and see if anything fell down there. I’ve had everything out the glovebox and it’s not from in there, it’s like it’s coming from where the screen is mounted. If you are in the M4 corridor area and need a windscreen replaced then I’d avoid the Swindon branch like the plague.
 
I had my van windscreen done a couple of years ago and with the summers we are currently having from June onwards no problem...
...until October when we had a downpour and I had water pissing in from everywhere.
I parked in the car park to get some shopping shortly after and couldn't turn the thing off!

I’m terrified of this, heavy rain overnight is forecast and it’s my current worry. The rattling is very annoying but the main concern is if they did the job properly and the sealant set / everything is fitted properly. The rattles make me worry there’s vibration or movement somewhere but hopefully it is indeed old bits stuck somewhere and not related to the windscreen. But way the rest of it was done isn’t inspire confidence. Interestingly there’s another google review saying that they didn’t hoover that persons car or clean up either, and scratched it too!

Belron (parent co) is rumoured to be going for an IPO soon so wonder if there’s been a profitability push recently to turn around cars more quickly to boost the valuation pre offering.

under the wiper plastics there is a tray that can rattle alot if you leave stuff there. its 5 min job to check - just remove the wipers and remove the top trim.
 
Two weeks ago I took my car to the local dealer for the 20k km service. Brake maintenance was also part of it. The service guy told me that the front pads needed to be replaced immediately. I told him I would do it myself as I had already changed them once at around 10k km.

Yesterday I put the car on the lift to change the pads. One side was more or less fine, but the other one... Apparently more paste meant more maintenance. It was everywhere, the big metal plate in the middle wasn’t fitted properly and they also tore one of the piston dust boots.

Of course I was quite pissed off, so today I went back to the dealer and showed them the photos. They didn’t argue and promised to take care of the brakes free of charge when I bring the car back for the warranty replacement of the fake carbon roof film. I’m glad they agreed to fix it, but I’m still shocked that a dealership would return a car with the brakes in this condition...

lovely wheels. Have tried to source cheap generic 17'' wheels but appears there are not many that fit.
I have already one Braid kit but maybe need another if want to stick in 17''. in 18'' there is of course more options as the fit is not that tight

That’s shocking.

The clip cover is also fitted the wrong way, the arrow should point in the direction of rotation.

And here is me who does not go to the track and still on original pads and discs at 57 k km :D Although it looks like 60 k will be the limit.
