GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

I collected my car today from Envy Car Care in Gosport after it went for a spa day or 2. Tim did another great job on it after previously doing my first Yaris. Only 1-2 minor imperfections to sort but noticed that the roof under the wrap doesn’t look to be as well finished as before and from some angles you can see it’s not smooth underneath but nothing to cry about. As at some point in its life I’m sure I’ll get it prepped and cleared (but unlikely any time soon).

I also fitted some MFF mudflaps prior to dropping it off to try and keep it a bit cleaner over winter.

Tried to drain the Oil catch can. it was empty. so It might be rather low breathing with GR Yaris at least when weather is cold.
Had a track session on wet and cold ambients since last emptying.
 
Good clean underneath ready for next week when I eventually get round to spraying some Lanoguard on the underside and some waxoyl in appropriate areas.

I do have some thick foam blocks on top of the axle stands to protect the jacking points, that should alay the fears of people like me who would be cringing at a pic like this 😆

I had the same rubber blocks on mine doing the exact same job 2 weeks ago.

Now I have made a pile of bits, and I'm now wondering why am I bothering with this job.
I should be just driving it and not concerned with the underside.🤔

As you have the facility YES . I was going to get mine done but was too expensive and I would be without my car for 3 days. Good luck with the refit, let us know how many spare bits you end up with once finished LOL

I daily mine, I wouldn’t be able to get behind the crud to even take it apart.

It’s an embarrassing “fridge brown” at the moment.
Still looks good though.👍🏻

You went way more involved than me! I only focused on the subframes and anything that was basically black painted steel. I will re-do a more thorough job of mine in spring as it was getting a bit cold here when doing mine. I still managed to break a few clips and figuring out which bolts went back where was a bit of a nightmare 😀

Yeah I did similar the other week actually, lot of hump back bridges round these parts. Guess I hit it faster than I'm used to

When I was younger one of my friends managed to write off a 205 GTI like that though. Jumped the bridge, and from what I'm told the suspension either broke or bottomed out and lost control.

Apparently Transport Research Laboratory investigated the accident as they weren't sure how he ended up where he did. That was upside down in a ditch with no skid marks (on the road at least), quite a good distance from the bridge
 
Picked my car up from detailer, full PPF stealth done, door and rear quarter panel insulation and swapped speakers with Focal 165.

The car looks a lot less elegant and a lot more aggressive in Satin look. I guess it's a bit similar to what Ogier edition is. I'm happy with this change, but I don't think anything is wrong with gloss look.

Next week I will take some time to install mudflaps and we are done spending money.... probably... for now..

True, certainly not recommended as rear suspension mount points are definitely not the strongest, and overall normal suspension is not done for airborne activities. Better to stay on road and avoid any health services.
 
In for it's first full service today. Had them show me the oil they were going to put in, which looked like the right stuff. As I am a man of paranoia.

In other news my final payment goes out on the 1st and I've told them I'm keeping it.
