GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Those service charges are very similar to what I was quoted after the fixed price period expired. We paid A$260 (€160) for the first 6 services regardless of which service it was and the 7th, oil and oil filter change, inspection and cuddle was A$380 (€230) and the next with gearbox and differential fluids was over A$550 (€350+). I have a mate who is a mechanic and he did the 7th for under A$200 though I supplied the engine oil, Valvoline C6, filters are a few $. I could only conclude a genuine cuddle from Toyota is much more expensive than an aftermarket one.

still bemuses me that after all this time, it seems dealers still don't stock the Toyota GF6A oil for the GRY
why would they, they maybe service 3 or 4 GR's a year so not inclined to buy and stock an expensive unique oil when they can get away with using the oil from the other 500 regular Yaris's they service

It's similar priced to the sn+ oil they use at least as a consumer I'm sure they could get it nearer cost price for both, and it's been in the parts catalogue since april 2021

they're a Toyota dealer you'd think they might want to service it to the manufacturers recommended spec, especially if they're a so called 'GR Centre', which means nothing really, but they don't so 🤷‍♂️

I'll go somewhere I know that does or supply my own.

I’m pretty sure RRG Toyota Macclesfield use this…

Give them a ring to confirm.

👍🏻

In Norway the fist 10 k service cost 3.990,- NOK which should be close to 334 Euro. The second and bigger 10 k service cost 595 Euro😱.
So it is the same, paid just over 2700kr without the oil. The oil should be an extra 1350kr. SEK and NOK are basically the same currency

Just letting go the warranty is really in my mind, could spare the money doing the maintenance myself and do some mods 🤣

During the service booking process, I make them reply to my emailed request for confirmation of what oil they intend to fill my GRY with. As long as they acknowledge that I’m armed with a little legitimate oil knowledge & that it’s on paper pacifies me. I’m inclined to do a mid service interval of my own for a real piece of mind.

Heck knows 🤷🏻

I just see the 1L, my brain refuses to compute quarts.. 🥴😂

👍🏻
I very nearly made a HUGE error when seconded to the US for the planning phase for a project. All the weights were in 'tons' and I was using my Oz cranage charts. Hmmmm. Seems odd but we can drop from an 800t crane to a 650... except a 'ton' was 2,000 lbs not 2,200 lbs or 1,000 kg as I was using. Stooopid.

So after a bit of work with the spacers, the new spoiler, some vinyls and the necessary paperwork I finally gave the car a wash and a coating. Really satisfied for now. The only thing still floating in my mind are bronze wheels. Im looking to buy a set for the upcoming winter and in that time look to get the original wheels powder coated in bronze too.

I started the day with waking up at 12.30 AM and then arrived late (4PM) at Nurburgring after a 1200km drive and a one hour ferry and did some warmup laps just to get used to it once again and to put the brain to work. The level of grip is insane on my car, it's a shame I'm not able to back it up 100%. Well, it's for the fun I'm here 🫡
And I had the pleasure to meet Mr HRNSHN very briefly while queueing to get access to the track - very nice to meet you 😁 . Or Schlange stehen as you say in das Vaterland 🤓
