GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Doing some errands yesterday for a community project I am running. Had a mate with me who had done a few passenger laps in a couple of sprints I did last year and the year before. When we were done he said he is still shocked at the grip and how it goes around corners. I told him corners are things other people have to slow down for. He chuckled.

I bought a van recently, which is hilarious because I kinda use the Yaris in van mode... and it's a 1.6 turbo two seater with dubious rear visibility and an elevated driving position, I joke it's the other Yaris to my partner. I even added a new head unit, and it requires cabled Android Auto. Feels like home. It's even the same colour, almost

It's weird having to brake for stuff.

Hello

Tegiwa have some in stock and some boot mats too if anyone else has more money than sense

As I'm taking one wheel in for refurb on Tuesday, I used some newly bought ramps and axle-stand rubbers and took off the wheel.

And then discovered it wouldn't fit in the boot of the missus' car.

Thankfully one of my neighbours has generously offered me his Merc for a couple of days :)

Service today and fitted the powerflex lower mount. Noted the radiator cap was leaking and thus replaced.

Last time I saw something similar to this was when a so called Toyota Master Technician unplugged my radiator fan during its service and my car overheated on the way home. Apparently it spewed from the rubber venting bung on the side of the expansion bottle. Didn’t even have the decency to apologise either but instead suggested the multi plug might’ve somehow come loose 😂 Didn’t go back to that dealership this year.

unlikely it's cap, probably the small overflow outlet with rubber cap, try lowering the max fill level to just below max indicator line
I was afraid the tank had cracked but investigation found it was the cap, well seal, it dead, new cap all good. $40 for genuine part so I didnt bother arguing warranty as it would have cost me more to take it to a dealer, faff around etc etm.

Last time I was at the dealership they noted some leaked coolant as well. They said just to keep an eye on it. Roughly looking at it the coolant in the tank looked to be a tiny bit over the mark.

I have owned the car for over three years and never had any temperature related problems so I was surprised about it. Interestingly the the previous Yaris GRMN I owned also had a leaking coolant tank.

Increased coefficient of friction!
My discs sometimes jam on due to rust (have a driveway with a steepish slope so need handbrake) if I park after it’s rained and then don’t drive the car for a bit. Sometimes you get a scary lurch forward since you need to build the revs a fair bit to overcome it.

Do worry about chunks of pad material falling out randomly due, I’m sure I saw a post about that on here once.
