GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Toyota part number T08880 - 86294 and then TGMO 0W20 AFE E

I have no idea if this is the right oil. I have a service plan so trust the dealership to fill my engine with the correct oil.

Could anyone confirm my dealership has filled my car with the correct oil
I’m afraid not, that’s the stuff for hybrids etc. This is the stuff it says in the manual/oil cap that this engine requires

this is why I drive 3 hours to RRG Macclesfield for my services , I had the first service dealer quote the incorrect oil when asked and then were being difficult about me supplying gf6a oil

it's beyond me the incompetence of Toyota, they literally have zero sense of pride or achievement, bottom line is they just don't care, it's written on the filler cap yet they still get it wrong time and time again

RRG Macc use the AFE oil, or at least its on my paperwork.

Have spent most of the last week driving to and from Cornwall in my lovely Yaris.

I think the car is getting confused though as it should be doing fairly short distances quite fast, but it is instead doing fairly long distances quite slowly.

I know the standard E hybrid oil, the one labelled up as AFE ( advanced fuel economy) 0W20 is only GF5. the current part number for that is 08880-86294, but also replaced 08880-83265 & 08880-83886. i sincerely hope RRG Macc are not using this for GR Yaris servicing, any confirmation of part numbers on your invoice Mike?

hmm 🤔 maybe it's something they have to select for the invoice as mine from April has 0W-20 AFE on it as well but no part number

I was under the impression they use Fuchs GT-1 0w-20 which is GF6A spec for GR Yaris services, that's what I was told for the service last year, this year I didn't query as assumed it would be the same, might call and clarify and go back to supplying own oil next time if no longer the case...

I was of the same opinion regarding their use of Fuchs from very early on in 2020/21, worth a phone call to check, if you get any clarification please let us know. Lets hope like you say its an invoicing strategy and not a step backwards.

No part numbers, could just be a set list based on it being a full service.

I asked RRG Macc this question and they confirmed they use Fuchs 0W-20 GT1 FLEX
