GR86 Want to own a GR86?

I am a fan of CC having had several cars done before, but this is the first time for me with PPF.
I had the front bumper & Headlights, side skirts & door edges. In other words all the important areas then CC all over.
The cost was around £1600 all in.

This is really odd. I joined the wait list on the day they originally went on sale which was 20/04/22. I have not received any emails offering a chance to buy. I also had a deposit at my dealer 4 weeks before they went on sale. I must have been banned from owning one.
 
That red looks awesome, glad I went for it now. Only ever had paint protection on my McLaren, I would of thought with the red being solid that getting any chips fixed would be pretty simple.

That really does sound odd, especially as I didn't join the waiting list until the next day. Could give the online team a call?

If you joined the waiting list, you should have an email from them saying you were on it. To be honest I can’t recall the exact date I joined, but I found an email dated the 22nd saying I was on the list. I think, thought can’t 100% recall, the waiting list wasn’t live on day one, and I think for a while after they sold out it was a ‘register your interest’ option. I think the ‘join waiting list’ option appeared a little later. I do know I was on the page every couple of days looking for updates, so I’d have clicked the button soon after it appeared. Also, I presume when they asked people a few weeks ago who was still interested, if they didn’t receive a reply they took them off the list.

I believe the waiting list sign-up opened approx 6/5/22 and those who expressed interest in a future batch also received an email to confirm they were still interested on 28/4/23.
 
I have an email from 20/04/22.which was the day of the Internet sale. Perhaps it's not a waiting list email. It just says "you'll be the first to hear the latest news about the GR86.

Yeah I don't think I'm on the waiting list. The email I got was register your interest on the day of the Internet sale. Shit what an idiot I am heheeh

It may not be a chip it may be just from when the headlight cover was taken out of the mould. Have a look at the other headlight to see if there is one in a mirror position of it.

I had both of those (and confirmed I wanted to stay on the list) but haven't had an email to offer a car, or say bad luck. Seems a bit odd.

i missed the first allocation and put my name on the waiting list,I received a email last week regarding if I was still interested in the GR 86.I contacted my local dealership and they had one in the showroom only to look at,not to road test.after seeing the car I made up my mind to order one.I have gone for ice silver.The only thing that’s bothering me is the issue with the silicon getting into the oil pick up pipe anybody else concerned about this issue.Thanks.

A little concerned but with a 10yr warranty, not overly concerned.
 
It seems that I have an allocation and need to finalise my spec. The truth is that I don't think I want this enough to replace the Yaris, so will most likely just cancel and let the next chap have it.
 
No disrespect but the GR Yaris is a terrible looking car compared to the GR86. Just my opinion but no matter how good the Yaris is to drive there is no way I would buy one or prefer one to the 86. The GR86 though is a fantastic looking vehicle. Shame Toyota don't want to sell me one
