GR86 Want to own a GR86?

Ironic the images are of the only colour no longer available!

I’ve just had my invite to finalise my order and I have a 2 week window to do so
 
Missed out on the first time round, been on the waitlist since then. Never really thought more cars would come so this is a welcome surprise. Placed my £1000 deposit although disappointed that can’t get the light blue that was there before.

Also need to decide what car to get rid of now, this would make car 5 which is quite silly really.

How long did it take between the confirmation of deposit to finalise order email?

I’ve had confirmation of deposit email and the money has gone but I got an error on the website at the same time and it reset the form back to the place deposit page.
 
May all those on the waiting list that still want one, be able to secure one.

May all those who want to buy purely to flip for a quick profit have their crotches infested with a thousand bedbugs.

Only a thousand?? Biblical numbers more like 😆
Also hope in all the excitement that Toyota online are now going to be immersed in! They don't forget those that are about to have their cars delivered at Portbury. Things still need to be done getting the cars to the dealers and sorting their paperwork, finance applications etc ..... dont need that process dragged out!!

First Post, but been reading the forum since April 22. Massive Toyota fan had 4 MR2s and a Celica, still have an MR2 which I have had for 12 years.

I have just been lucky enough to get the Reserve your 86 email having been on the waiting list since the initial allocation day, so just about to press that button:) as some one said earlier just need to decide which current car goes :).

From my interactions they’d forget their own name if their mothers hadn’t sewn it in to the back of their underpants!
 
Toyota being as transparent as ever. Release a few extra cars and get some free publicity!

On the PH article thread there's a bloke who took up the new offer and has been notified that his car has just left the factory! I hope there's nobody from the first batch still waiting.
 
Do we think this is just publicity that they will end production of the GR86, maybe they've found a way around all the red tape and will continue to mass produce the GR86??

They've consistently said that the 86 won't meet next years EU reg's without a major redesign, so pretty sure there'll be none after next July no matter what else happens.
 
I wouldn't mind betting that they have just reshuffled some allocations from other overseas RHD countries that are not constrained by EU regs. They realised they underestimated what they could have sold here and so are trying to make up for it with a token allocation for publicity, some poor souls somewhere in the world have just got an email to say their order has been delayed due to some unspecified, vague "issue" and they will update them shortly.
 
Just had my finalise order email. I don’t suppose anyone knows when payment is required. It’s likely going to replace my FK8 as daily driver but their part ex rate wasn’t great so will try and sell privately

For first batch orders you paid the deposit and then they contact you for the balance a few days before it arrives at the dealers and they register it.

That’s great thank you, they haven’t finished delivering the original orders yet have they? So probably at least a good few months to work it out!
