And the comparison shows it's 30 years old. I would imagine the auto Supra might be more competitive. Interestingly Mk4 Supras were not well received in the UK (a particular Jeremy Clarkson review comes to mind) when they first came out, unlike the GR86. It's amazing how time promotes forgiveness.@S18RSG the video is up!
Got to hand it to the Supra, that particular car is 30 years old and they are still comparing it to modern stuff.
Thanks for the shout!@S18RSG the video is up!

It got fitted the week after the shoot unfortunately! I'll get some other videos on it with the exhaust on as soon as I can.I was hoping you had the remark exhaust fitted before the video was shot!

Also note that Carwow weight stats are typically very unreliable, they just put up any number they can find, "1490kg" in case of the Supra. From the link referenced, we can see that a mk4 Supra has a declared din kerb weight of 1630kg and that magazines have actually weighed it at the most at 1685kg (=1760kg EU - 75kg driver). That's 400kg more then a GR86 folks, and the reason that's it's barely faster with all that power and torque (when present), and a very good reason to prefer the lighter GR(s) imho....
I know. Supra was faster than generic 911 back in the days. That supra looked tad sluggish.Well after posting this, according to performance data from 12 magazine tests, the Supra should be faster everywhere. Not by a huge margin (a surprise by itself, NA4 vs FI6 after all), but definitely faster.
Either the Supra was not the best example, not earth shattering maybe after +30 years, maybe the rain in combination with maybe not the best tyres, maybe Ben isn't a born dragracer
@Michael KnightI
It’s quite clear that the Supra wasn’t exactly slow when it got up to speed, so it’s not like it was making no power.Yeah, that Supra is goosed or hobbled by crappy tyres. No way it’s a 15.5 second car, even in the wet.
Exactly.The cars should have matching tyres, the test should have been done in the dry, at standard atmospheric conditions, the Supra should have had a stock exhaust, the fuel levels should be the same, the driver weights should be compensated, they should be the same colour, etc etc.
Its just a bit of fun.
