Has anyone had any issues regarding insurance and not having an alarm?

No. As above, select the "manufacturer fitted alarm/immobiliser" option. Insurers have a list of what is fitted, which is a Thatcham Cat 1 immobiliser on the GR86.
I'm insured through Howdens and have had no issues. The Cat 1 element is covered by the factory fitted immobiliser, it doesn't matter about an alarm.

Sincere apologies for dredging up this thread but owners who have taken finance and have raised the alarm issue with The Motoring Ombudsman will only have one choice if found in their favour, which is to hand the car back.

There is no direct negotiation possible with Toyota as they want you to decide whether you accept the ombudsman's decision or not first and if you reject the TMO decision you have less bargaining power obviously.
