Hi, I live in Cyprus where roads are from good to bad, but the problem here is summer temps, hitting high 40's very often so I want to make some mods
for real-life street use from traffic conditions to twisty mountain roads. I want more horsepower but don't want to do an ECU flash.
Option is a little increase in power but more interested in keeping the heat down. I want to install the following items and want opinions if I am on
the right track or not. thanks.
Wish to install
Genuine GRMN Toyota GR Yaris & GR Corolla Air Intake Duct
Wagner Tuning Toyota GR Yaris Competition Intercooler Kit
HJS ECE Tuning Sports Cat Toyota GR Yaris EURO 6
HEL Performance Direct Fit Oil Cooler Kit for Toyota GR Yaris Fast Road Kit - Setrab
HEL Performance Oil Catch Can Kit for Toyota GR Yaris
Wagner Tuning Toyota GR Yaris Competition Intercooler Kit
Thanks

Airtec do a stage 3 bigger oil cooler than the one you have fitted.... Fitted one to mine... Works great. Temps are well down on road and track.

Hi,

“Genuine GRMN Toyota GR Yaris & GR Corolla Air Intake Duct” - this won't do much. You can skip it. If you want to replace only air intake duct, not the full intake system, then go for a Forge Motorsport one (or similar). This way you will lower intake temps and keep OEM levels of filtration.

if you don't want to do permanent holes to the bonnet, just thought that cheap mod to improve bonnet air flow is to remove the plastic corner plates next to windshield. Might try on next track day. now with -5'C it makes no sense. :D

as the opening is in the very corner of the windscreen don't think there will be positive pressure from above. but that's easily tested with some thread and tape.
They come off in 10s/side.

Might wanna look into TRD/GRMN undertray since transfer gets very hot. Also, @HRNSHN-Racing makes affordable rear diff vent which helps with ITCC/rear diff temps.
the plastic one does not work for me as it gets destroyed. maybe doing one from metal.
tested the temps with those flaps removed and at least in my car the side mounted oil cooler run cooler. was driving on regular road so not proper heat soak but 5-10'C less oil temp. Normally oil sits at 85'C on normal road, now dropped to 75'C. for winter use it makes no sense to remove the flaps but for summer or occasional track use I will.

there is a foam behind the head lamp in front fender, and thought if should remove that aswell to improve flow from fender but then wasn't sure how it goes with positive & negative pressures for engine compartment and water cell so left them as such. . . Alhtough that foam could be more of sound deadening from fender, maybe not that much in general via front to fender in stock gr.

edit:
consulted toyota tech / service rep in terms of the foam and his opinion was its for sound deadening so removing the passanger side foam from the fender.

I did this to mine old and a very scientifically trip with 3 other gryarisar. Said mine have close to 5 c lower temp. And on track might be close to 5 c lower temp while driving. The heat soak gets it really bad if you let it site for a red flag.... Very easy and stuck there good hade it a winter in the snow and it is still there.

How come you haven't removed the plate with GR logo behind the mesh, where your duct is on the first photo?

I had big duct there in place of that plate - actually still in shelf if anyone is interested in that. Wont fit with larger oil cooler so took it off.

@Michael Knight, BFM performance have had the same idea.
