I just had my call back from Toyota... who confirmed that my manual white GR86 would be ready estimated for end of August early September. Although he said on the phone it is likely to change, quite possibly be moved forwards.

I asked a few questions.

1) We get car mats - they are included in the price. GR86 flavoured/styled mats.
2) Electric Blue is their most popular colour... he had called 5 people including me this morning and 4/5 were Electric Blue
3) There were just over 400 accepted orders for the GR86, he wouldn't give an exact figure but was above 400, under 500.

I asked if my car was confirmed as allocated for me and he said yes, you wouldn't get this phone call otherwise.

Complimentary 3 day drive away insurance is given.
They will email you monthly with an update on your build.
They will email you with more frequency when the order is getting nearer to be ready.
They will collect full payment roughly one week before the car is ready to be collected.

He also asked if I wanted to be introduced to my local dealer, I declined as I already have a relationship.

Good news, and for those of you whom like conspiracy theroies. My confirmation order was received at 10:07.
Also... really glad I didn't pick Electric Blue.

Generally anything which will reduce the value at trade in / sale will be used against you. In 5/10 years time I doubt it will matter much but short term probably will 🤔

God, that sounds like my worst nightmare.

Had 4 calls today from unknown numbers. Had a heart attack every time. None of them were Toyota 😮‍💨

@AndyRC I've got order confirmation and had deposit payment taken for Sapphire Blue AT if that's enough to make it onto the list 😉

Thanks for the info and glad you got your call. My confirmation order was received at 10:08 so will be interesting to see how many pulled the trigger within the minute before me and will get the toyota call next. Still waiting patiently by my phone :coffee: 🤞

Look at 2012, that is pretty much the best indicator of how many are released per year, following the 2012 surge of demand from Top Gear etc.
