GR86 is described as ice silver over here (but steel silver elsewhere) - certainly looks like some grey in it to me?

AFAIK Paint code is the same as for outgoing GT86

A lot of “enthusiasts“ wrote the GR86 off as soon as it was announced, “No Turbo = No cheap tune” , in the BHP stakes 230 is minimal these days, many GT86 owners don’t see it as a significant upgrade, they have already sorted their cars, the GR86 will appeal to a smaller demographic who appreciate having something you can use all of, rather than talk about what you’ve got at a car meet/pub and will never get to use a fraction of on a public road ( in the U.K. at least). How in demand will be down to how many are available , unfortunately we don’t know and Toyota are unlikely to tell us at the moment 🤔 Hopefully enough for everyone who genuinely wants one 🤞

Furthermore, toyota have down played the power claims, in reality the horsepower is around the 250 mark, verified by several American and Japanese owned cars, this is why this car is perfect for me. An exhaust and tune (once the software has been cracked) would be around the 270bhp range, which is golden in my eyes!

I’d not want to compromise the drivetrain warranty by doing anything on the ECU 🤔 A 10/11 year warranty should do me for as long as I probably want an ICE car (or be able to afford to put fuel in it 🤣 )and that’s a big plus with any Toyota 👍 If the warranty isn’t an issue for folks plenty of scope to play in the engine bay 😎

If you want to be washing your car often then go for red.

Plenty of all black badges around for the GT86, I’m sure there will some for the GR8, if there isn’t already 👍 Satin black tailpipes would work too for the “No chrome” finish 😎
 
Anyone got a link to the terms and conditions for the reserving a car fee. I seen it was fully refundable when I placed the order but can’t find the details again now. Guessing you can cancel at any point before delivery.

I'd be interested to know as well, tempted to order for myself and also see if the dealership will be able to order for me, but don't want to lose £1,000.

I’ve always loved blue cars and the Electric Blue just does it for me, feel like just seeing it sat in the garage will be a little event.

Also picked up this before the order process was announced.. hopefully not prematurely 😅 1970’s TEQ fob.

I normally like white, having had a white GT86, Yaris hybrid, Prius, Elise and GRMN recently. But the 86 pearlescent white looks pinky-beige from some angles, it's not a flat white. I don't think I would have it again, despite the white car/black wheels look, which I do like.

Might be an idea to have a look at a white GT86 in the flesh and see if you like it before speccing your GR like that.
 
A wee question for those who have had experience with the GT86 as well (sorry if this question is in the wrong place) - what do you think the NVH is like for the GR86? I'm coming from a F56 Mini Cooper S for reference. I've heard some saying it's loud and sticking some sound deadening on the panels already, but some Japanese videos on YouTube have also said it's much quieter inside than before, so I know it's a subjective thing!

Might be better as a question in the GR86 General Discussion section , but in reality until we get demo cars on U.K. roads I wouldn’t put faith in other folks opinion. One person’s it’s quiet will be another’s it’s loud. Only genuine test is to drive it yourself 👍
 
Still can’t decide between white and red :LOL: I’ve owned a Golf R previously which was white pearlescent which had a small bit of damage between the front and rear door and found it so difficult to obtain a body shop to want to take on the repair. And the ones that did said it would involve spraying nearly the whole NS and it wasn’t cheap. Ended up not having it done and sold the car.

My white GT86 had some damage repaired and you can still tell that it was repaired and resprayed 4 years later. I'm sure anyone who doesn't know can't see it, but it still bugs me 😂 one of the main reasons I won't go for the white GR86, even though I love it with the black trim!
 
The white gt86 has mismatched panels from the factory, the paint looks different on plastic vs metal
