Completed the handover paperwork and then, as I got in the car to be shown the controls, I noticed a small dent which is at the back of the bonnet (OS) right on the longitudinal crease in the bonnet.. Their dent man can have a go at it on Tuesday and if itโs still visible afterwards Iโll reject it..
Not the best picture but Iโm sure there will be more
Congrat's on the collection and bummer on the dent. Good job you noticed the defect before leaving the premises, otherwise it would have been hard to prove otherwise. I reckon the bonnet is thin enough for a dent to be manipulated out by a specialist. Maybe get yourself a 'Dent Reflector Board' from Amazon/eBay to check it out once completed?
Maybe update the 'Damaged on Collection' thread once you have a final outcome?
Car looks great @Bluemanc100 - sorry to hear about the dent and I hope you get it sorted properly (and it doesn't take the shine off the experience of enjoying of the car).

Sheer luck as it only became obvious when I was getting in the car.. The only worry about the dent is that the bonnet is double skinned and I think theyโll have to drill a hole to get the dent out then put a grommet in.. Not sure Iโm happy with that

I think I mentioned on another post that I once collected a brand new Honda CRV on Friday the 13th and got rear ended.. Touch wood Iโve not been in a smash yet but I do need to pop over to Costco later for fuel.. Wish me luck

Not necessarily, there are ways of pulling some dents out without having access to the back of a panel. Hopefully they get it resolved for you without any issues.
I had one request.. Donโt drill the car for the plates.. They drilled the carโฆ The plates are metal though and look good so it is what it isโฆ
I would recommend a really good look around.. I thought that Iโd checked it thoroughly but as I said it was sheer luck that when getting into the car with the light on the bonnet it then became obvious..
Congratulations on the car, shame about the Dent, getting dents out of alley is a bit harder than a steel bonnet, the Dent will have to be lifted higher then flatted down, let's hope the Dentman is good
If that's Lindops Queensferry then I'm not surprised.
I asked on my 1st Yaris to leave all the protection left on - they took it all off and denied it was ever on. Until I pointed out they'd missed some from the bonnet and they agreed they'd made an error.
I wouldn't buy another car from them, but I do on occasions use them for service/warranty as the techs are good, albeit quite a lot of staff have changed in the last 12 mths.
For dents I've seen "Dent Whiz" in the car park a few times on previous visits.

This is my friend Martin, he's one of the best in the business. If you're ever over East Yorkshire and you have bits you want sorting go see him. He's looked after my family's cars for years. Just tell him I sent you, he might buy me a beer!
I have the plate available , never used it so itโs ready to be transferred, ยฃ450 ๐คทโโ๏ธ open to offers ๐ค

If it doesnโt go before March 24 it will be going onto my next Toyota , itโs not as fitting as it would have been for my short lived one of a kind 6AT GR66 , but it will be far better on a car than simply a bit of paper.
With the official details and pricing of U.K. spec cars published by Toyota U.K. Iโve updated the thread to become the Order List. If you have a confirmed order please vote in the Poll for your colour choice and post a comment with colour and transmission choice , 6MT or 6AT and I will add you to the order list below.

To help with colour choices it looks as though the following are carried over from the previous GT86 as the paint codes are the same: Pearl White (pearlescent) K1X, Crystal Black (metallic) D4S, Electric Blue (solid) DAR, Ice Silver (metallic) G1U
Andy asked me to split out the graphs showing a visual split between different colour choices for ordered cars into its own thread. I'll keep this post updated as more people join the forum and confirm their orders in the main Order List thread. I welcome any suggestions for improving the...
I will keep this first post updated with the semi-recent data. If you have a confirmed order, please put your location (just gneral location will do!) in your profile so I can update this list. Hopefully in the coming months people can use these maps to work out 'mini-meets' with other local 86...

Is there an updated version of this or have we stopped recording members cars?
Apologies if I haven't found the new list. Please point me in the right direction.
Thanks
Finally collected car no. 2!! Some people will remember back in August my car arrived and on collection day when the delivery film was removed there was dent on the bonnet and scratches.
Itโs been quite the rigmarole since then and the worst buying experience Iโve ever had and itโs not quite finished but at least Iโve finally got a damage free car!!
Crap time of year to get it as most first batch owners will testify but it will be off to the detailers shortly and weโll see what the weather does but it probably wonโt get too much use until the spring unfortunately.
