I'm always watching trying to see where orders are time wise..So we currently have 208 UK orders listed on here. About 50% of the total. Out of those 208, 75 have said that they have collected their new car. Which is about 56% of the orders on here.
I'd love to see how that relates to the times of the orders and where we are roughly on the timeline of the cars going through the factory. To me, the suggested delivery of Q1 '24 seems really pessimistic from TOL. I wonder if those who got the last few cars will see them ahead of time?
I’m coming from an ND MX-5 and I love the 86 so far. Quite a bit firmer than the Mazda but probably nowhere near as bad as the spyder. Interested in hearing why you didn’t get along with the Porsche though.Just ordered a red GR86, pinched the last one that's already on the boat arriving in February. In Sweden you can still order them, although if you order now they will arrive in September.
Coming from a 718 Spyder that I never fell in love with, I'm hoping the GR86 will be similar to the MX-5 ND I had and loved for 4 years, but with more space for tires and things.
I’m a 10:36 order, changed colour in October and my car is in Portbury, TOL are telling me that it will be delivered at the end of this month.I'm always watching trying to see where orders are time wise..
That's strange.. I'm 11:20 and still not even gone into build yet. You'd expect with a colour change that would of put you at the back of the queI’m a 10:36 order, changed colour in October and my car is in Portbury, TOL are telling me that it will be delivered at the end of this month.
I know, I had to call them twice before I would believe what the app was telling me. Maybe I got lucky with a cancelled order. That's strange.. I'm 11:20 and still not even gone into build yet. You'd expect with a colour change that would of put you at the back of the que
I give up trying to figure it out!
The Spyder was nice and cool and I loved it on track, but it was frustrating on normal roads when you can't drive its full potential and have to keep it restrained all the time. Lovely sound though with the Cargraphics X-pipe Racing exhaust.I’m coming from an ND MX-5 and I love the 86 so far. Quite a bit firmer than the Mazda but probably nowhere near as bad as the spyder. Ive a 987 Spyder Ive had 12 years, it doesnt get the praise the 981/718 gets as its not GT related but for road use its one I'll never sell, you can use all the rpm and drive at speed without being 3 figures and have a lot of fun. The GR86 will be a daily and on my test drive it was the same principle, enjoying the speed and revs are safer involving speedsThe Spyder was nice and cool and I loved it on track, but it was frustrating on normal roads when you can't drive its full potential and have to keep it restrained all the time. The MX-5 and GR86 is just fun immediately and you can enjoy them on normal roads. They are fast enough for me, I enjoy the curves more than outright top speed anyway.
I prefer cars firm but well damped, I had Öhlins on the MX-5 and it was quite firm but much better controlled than OE Bilstein shocks with lowering springs.
Would be interesting reading. Seems later orders have or are catching up the early orders due to the delays, those who's cars got here in the summer should have had them 6 months by now but instead they've sat in Derby while later orders get shipped in.So we currently have 208 UK orders listed on here. @MAMRacer , I’ve got you at #209 on the list@AndyRC I'm not on your list but I collected my manual Sapphire Blue GR86 from dealer (Stoneacre Gateshead) on Saturday. The handover was a bit of a chore, but I have it now. Have only managed about 40 miles so far, 15 today in the snow, but I can tell it is going to be fantastic, although my 200 mile commute is going to be a bit noisier than it is currentlyView attachment 12592
