My order is early 11am, and I was working on the assumption given to me by TUK that nothing will move until October '23 with Q1 '24 for delivery. Do we think that things are moving forward?

I think they just shifted anyone who isn’t in build back. I think everyone was dated as around October before so I’m guessing their buyers had to push it back on their system

Just a quick update on the progress of my order (which was confirmed at 10:22am on the 20th April 2022) - I received an email from Toyota Online Retail at 11:00pm last night advising me that my GR86 has moved to the Left the Factory stage on the Vehicle Order Tracker and have therefore changed my vote in Post #1 on the UK GR86 Order Status thread to reflect that.

Following my nominated dealer advising my car would be ready for collection on th 11th October, I called Toyota Online. They said that would not be the case, but suggested three to four weeks is likely. They did confirm my car (10:07 order) was in the UK; is awaiting release pending final...

Having checked the DVLA website and tried the missing letters in the sequence it looks as though there are at least 6 press cars registered on 06.06.2022Already posted:

Hi, I am a new member and gratefully joined to try and get news on delivery etc. I've ordered a Silver Manual, so was happy to see the press car pictured yesterday. (looking good). I am not on twitter.... but it was sooo easy to see who was in possession of the silver press car. I am not sure regarding etiquette on forums, but could we (maybe a forum leader) reach out to this guy on all of our behalf's. Any news at all would be great. As a Toyota Press Manager he may (should) already be aware of our forum and concerns, lets hope he wants to cheer us up with positive news. Yup my car is also at Derby (been there for weeks and weeks).

Welcome @sgh , I’ve added you at #36 on The List in post #1.
The current custodian of that press car is indeed a forum member , no doubt if he feels he has anything to share with us he will do so. Toyota U.K. are being “very limited” (trying to be diplomatic here) in what they are saying to customers so I doubt any employe would be willing to break ranks with the “official line”. Looks like the wait may be coming to an end for some folk reasonably soon.

@Voice of Reason, I'd look at getting a professional coating applied rather than a dealer recommended product, they sell these based on commision and most dont offer the durability of professional products.
For a new car, with a single stage paint correction and a several year ceramic coating, you should be looking to pay £500-600.

Started looking more at parts I'd like but the postage from Japan is insane. May just wait until it's out to see if we get more here.
I'm not counting on it due to the disjointed nature of the order. I have just got my order form through to sign from my dealer, they don't have a clue what, if anything is available 'extra'.
No doubt we can thank Toyota exec for their ham fisted sales strategy.

Ice Silver Manual ordered 10:03.
Had a pre-order in with my local garage (Durham) after the car was confirmed for the UK, as with others even have an order form for my “car”. After the online purchase was confirmed, the garage then held onto the deposit for a month before refunding it. This also happened to my two friends who have orders (pearl white and electric blue) through the same garage and had pre-ordered them with me. Only time they have called about the order was to ask if I’d requested to change garage as they got an earful from TUK when I’d raised the possibility of switching.
Think some credit has to go to the buy online team, the delay issues aren’t their fault and they have been brilliant with myself in almost every aspect and interaction during a difficult time for customers with orders.
Have been told a mid November delivery so not long to go! When I spoke to the garage last week the new salesman who I’m dealing with mentioned other than my order and my friends there are another two being delivered to Durham, be interested to see if they are in the forum.
