Hi people has anyone experienced temperature to rise quickly with warnings on dashboard after idle for about 10 mins whilst waiting to use pressure washer, the moment I pulled away and got 50 yards up the road all was okay, haven’t had a chance to check levels yet though????
Cheers

No, I've not experienced that in nearly 20K miles temp gauge is rock steady whatever I'm doing.

Thanks all I will check fluid levels later and see if fan’s working 👍

Update on overheating the actual connection of power to the fan was off !!!!!! How this happened I don’t know as it seems to need locking in place!! And the only people who have been under the bonnet is my Toyota dealer!!! Unless it wasn’t connected properly and has vibrated off , fan seems to take ages to kick in though!!!!hopefully panic over thanks for your input

I had an overheating warning Saturday and the temp needle was at max. was stuck in a traffic jam. Pulled straight into a layby and switched off. Coolant header tank full, fan blades free to turn, then noticed as above that the fan was unplugged? Again the only people to have been under the bonnet were Toyota at the recent 6 month safety inspection. Check your plugs folks!

I dont think Toyota unplugged the fan connector during inspection? So this must be a production issue that comes up after a while?
Or am I wrong?

Hi,

Same happened to me; I’m from Spain and my fans were properly working since I’ve spend couple of time waiting on summer with AC on, and after first oil change they left it disconnected… I’ve spoken to the dealer and everything is shade and gray, no this is clear there…

Here is the picture of how it was disconnected, this is not being poorly connected, this is being pulled apart…

everyone runs outside to check their fans are plugged in!
It's winter, I can check it in spring when there is a spitting chance it's even needed.

But I'll go and check now, 7am on a Saturday :ROFLMAO:

Edit: seriously, open contact not so good. It was plugged in anyway :D

Would be nice if the car showed an error for the fan unplugged, I would change it for the cel on the post cat O2 sensor 🤣

Hi, Ive had 2 engine coolant warnings since Ive had the Yaris GR for 3 weeks. Both while idling in traffic for about 10 minutes. Checked it today and the fan was disconnected. No idea why it would be disconnected. Anyway, hope that solves the issue

I read that before......some were delivered without connection

Hi, had the same on Saturday in the queue for Goodwood. Was on the verge of calling for assistance when I found this thread. GR was serviced in Feb so can't imagine it's been disconnected since - possible it wasn't properly reconnected and became dislodged?
Anyway, thanks to this group for providing the answer.
