GR Yaris Ships in Transit

Hey all. So I’ve been tracking Euphrates highway this last week or so it appears to be taking the long route around Africa according to marine traffic. Guessing it’s avoiding the Suez Canal due to the Yemen baddies?!

Mine did the same in January. Adds an extra week or so to shipping time.

I had notification yesterday at 1100 that my car has left the factory. Does anyone know what ship that would be?
Just had a look and only one I that jumps out at me is Thor Highway. It’s a new ship, and docked at Nagoya E5 south (Toyota dock) a few days ago and is currently on its way to Singapore.

I've got an info that my car is on NEPTUNE GALENE that is currently travelling from Piraeus (Greece) to Koper (Slovenia) and docking tonight. I wonder how it got to Piraeus or Turkey, do we have info on any ships that would fit that?

Anyways I'm super happy as dealer is located only few kilometers from the port. It will take a while anyways for the car to go through process.

Not sure how each country deals with it but in the UK the cars go from the port to a Toyota factory and for me is 130miles in the opposite direction.

No idea on your route.. surprised they don't just go over land from Livorno (Italy) to Slovenia as the distance is not massive. But be glad it's almost with you! Fun times ahead.

We don't have factories, storages or whatever. There is just a dealership in every major town, cars go straight to the assigned dealer. It has been already confirmed by the dealer I get the car mid-october. Probably 1 week to get the car from port and few days for dealer prep.

I have been following your ship. Should be in Portbury tomorrow afternoon/evening. I bet excitement is growing!
I’m looking forward to it although haven’t got round to test driving an auto and feel it should be Toyota UK offering me a test drive rather than me finding a dealership with a car.

My dealer let me drive the manual and the changes to me are good but it would be nice to know a delivery date so I can arrange a detail and fit it around my very busy schedule.

Well, it’s nearly ready. Suppose to be collecting Monday!!
@ Ecsrobin - yeah I was hoping for a test drive first (I’ve gone for auto) but I think the demo car was on the same ship mine came in on. So I decided just to wait for mine to be ready.

How long did you have to wait from the ship arriving until you were able to collect?

@Dave9202 - it arrived at portbury on the 13th September, then the following Wednesday (the 18th) I had an update that it was in derby.
Then a phone call from Oxford on the 25th saying car was due to them on the 3rd.
Then an email on Tuesday the 1st saying car has arrived at the dealer.
Then I got an invoice to pay for it the next day and then I arranged collection for Monday the 7th, probably could have picked up Saturday but I had other commitments.

Thanks for the info, gives me an idea of timeframes with mine. Hope you’re happy with your purchase!

Little (to no) update from my side, car is still sitting in port/customs (Livorno) from July 16th, till now estimated delivery date has been changed 6 times and Toyota replied me that all of this is simply due to: “logistics delays and quality checks”. Speechless..

No way? That’s awful! Perhaps our customs are not too terrible after all! Do you know anyone else going through the same port?
