Out of interest I wanted to see what few unique parts the dealerships could source from other countries and this is what they'll sell you and for how much:

GR forged 17 inch wheels
£910.73 each

Wiper blade inserts (rubber that can be replaced rather than the whole wiper blade unit)
LH £34.68
RH £37.82
Bearing in mind the whole wiper unit for both sides is for sale for £44 😳

Winter Rubber floor mats front & rear
£141.86

I enquired about the nicer JDM floor mats but no price was given on the part meaning unavailable over here.

Ah nice! I'm glad you found the wiper blade inserts. I was on the look out for those, that price is a joke though I'm sure they are about $9 in the US. If I can find someone that ships them I'd buy a bunch and import them over.

Do you have the part number for the whole wiper blades? OEM are the best I think.

The mats aren't too badly priced. By the time you add shipping from Japan they are quite close.

Are you sure that winter mat set really is front and rear, not just front? Reasonable price though. I’ve not seen any other source for these in RHD except JP (they are made in Thailand and can’t buy there either).

What I found is that Toyota GB will supply any part as long as they have a part#. If the part is not part of the UK parts list, then the cost is extortionate.

Due to a handover mistake on my car, I got good will out of the dealer and got them to supply the dimming rear view mirror, which is US$180 in USA. Over here they will supply for £330.

Same with the GR badge in the steering wheel. Not on the UK parts list but they can supply as I gave them a part#, £45 thank you sir. In Japan it's less than £10.

Possibly just the front, these are the American part number and I'm unable to find any images of rear winter mats

An upgrade I would consider
See this thread.

I would say the auto-dimming mirror that I fitted is not as effective as the one we have in our other car, a Disco Sport. But it does help.

I just get a sore head reading all that. Cannot be bothered pulling the thing apart and running wires, not my skill set. If the results were top notch, I'd prefer to pay someone to do it, better than I could 😁

It's been a while since I done mine but if I remember correctly, it's all plug and play at the mirror. No running of wires required.

Due to the low height of our cars, I found that the auto dimming mirror is a must have.

Yeah, could do with an auto-dimming windscreen too!

Sounds more like it!

Ordered a set of those, thanks - they can go on the shelf next to the oil filters :)

I believe the wipers are Denso Hybrid type. Have a shop around, I think you can get them a lot cheaper.

Is this the one with the integrated Compass that is found on Forresters and Outbacks?

Really? I would like an auto dinning mirror but I remember being put off by having to run wires myself. So the wiring is already in place for UK cars?

Edit: reading the thread linked above, @Bathroom_Security had to fit his by running his own wires to the fuse box (I remember seeing that post now). So perhaps some cars have wiring already and some don't?

It's been so long ago that I don't remember. Running 2 cables for the mirror if needed is not hard, just use a speaker cable and you can run it along the driver's side down the A trim to behing the steering wheel. There you will find a bunch of wires that can be easily tapped of for power. I ran my dashcam hard wire to this area rather than the fuse box.
