Sorry I could have been clearer, the order book was opened in early 2020, I spoke to a dealer but held off until June before placing a deposit down. Cars arrived in November after press drives.Some of the “influencers” seemed to get hold of a car pretty quickly
I've been lurking here for a while and, like everyone else, am waiting impatiently for information from Toyota. I actually started out looking at GT86s but used prices are so silly that I've widened my horizons. I have registered my interest with a dealer but haven't handed over any money.
Does anyone have any insight on GR86 pricing? I've seen guesses ranging from £28k to £32.5k for the base version. Comparing GR86 and GR Yaris prices in Japan (which will make you weep - a base GR86 is £19500) reveals that the base GR86 is 8% cheaper than the base Yaris. Applying that logic to the UK suggests a starting price of £28,600 (base Yaris is now £31,120).

Nothing official, only what has been shared from other markets which means you have to take a bit of variation, but this is a good pdf from Poland https://pdf.sites.toyota.pl/spec_gr86.pdf who seem to be ahead of the rest of Europe.
Based on their prices and xrate = Base £30283, Premium £32601
UK will have extra first year taxes due to emissions I suspect but still under the GRY price range.
If France are organising a drive event at Le Mans in a fortnight, then the initial batch of European launch and press cars must be imminent.

I'm still confident that it will be priced lower than the GR Yaris, bare in mind that GT86's were being sold with this taxing system (albeit only the face lift cars from 2017 onwards) and were still undercutting what the GR Yaris cost.

The first year tax will sting, but subsequent years looks cheaper than I was expecting. Goes to show the cost of N/A larger capacity, it'll be the last of its kind, I cant think of a sports car this side of Porsche GT/GTS models which are N/A engines...
What I would like to see if a UK track/drive event like France has offered (and I've seen on multiple US videos!), that would be an amazing way to get people excited for the car and probably confirm many deposits.

It has to be priced below the Yaris. They can't tout it as the junior model of the GR range and then price it above. Not to mention that the Yaris is a very serious piece of bespoke kit, and the GR86 is a revised version of a 10 year old design.
I'm expecting it to be from £29k, which still represents something like a 10% hike over the base GT86. And I'm expecting Toyota to offer it at the same 0% PCP rate that they did for the Yaris. Anything more will be poor value for money.

Ducktail spoiler seems to be an optional extra at 449 Euros in the colour of the car
There are some expensive wheel options but cant work out other than being anthracite what the difference would be.
On the image it also looks like rear parking sensors in the bumper, not the nicest ones if I am honest as look like 'dimples'
Most of the TRD body options seem to also be available on the configurator.

I’m wondering if the optional lightweight wheels are possibly same design but forged ones made by BBS , the design looks very similar to those on the GRY but different PCD etc. They Look a very costly option with the choice of aftermarket forged or flow formed alloys available much cheaper.

For the price that seems the only justification for how expensive it is, given even BMW/Porsche dont charge that for their optional wheels I cant see how a set of wheels can be over 10% the value of the car unless they are very special. The other forum suggested they might just be the BRZ wheels which are that colour I think(?) but you can get wheels reconditioned and colour change for £100 each normally.

In the translation the only wheels which get a claim to be lightweight are the “optional“ ones , but it does look like Toyota are having one over on folk unless they weigh 6kg each and are forged from UnObTayneeum

Looks promising! I had a quick configure but I see no mention of blind spot monitoring on the high spec cars? I'm not too fussed if its not there since visibility in the GT86 is pretty good, but would be a nice to have. Also a shame that the red interior is not an option, here's hoping that it is country dependant!
As for the GR parts for the UK, I would be sceptical if UK dealers offer it officially, since Fensport is the official UK importer of those parts, but I would gladly be proven otherwise!

The Bright/Neptune Blue and Ignition/ Track bRed are both listed as metallic , I thought these were solid colours

I think Fensport are importer of TRD parts , not sure of the commercial issues around this v GR Performance Parts which is how understand they are being marketed?
As we are seeing specifications differing slightly from country to country , until we get the official version from Toyota U.K. we won’t know what we will get. Toyota could Be kind to the RHD market and make red interior available

They are indeed, I mistakenly said the parts are GR, but they are actually TRD, if you go on the Japanese TRD webiste, the parts for the GR86 are identical to what is shown on the German configurator.
