GR86 Open/close windows using the key

After discovering that unlike most other cars, the ability to open or close the windows remotely using the key isn’t enabled by default, I took my car into the dealer this morning to get them to enable it. Unsurprisingly they’d not done this for a GR86 before, so it took them a while to work out where the setting was for them to do it. They found it in the end, it wasn’t where they would normally expect it to be (probably as it’s a Subaru setting, not Toyota). If anyone else takes their car in for the same, let the service person know it is in the “Body” ecu settings, which should save them searching all the other settings for it.

Did they charge you anything to do this? I'd like to have the same setting enabled. And I'd also like to have both doors open when I place my hand on the drivers door handle.

They didn’t charge me, but it was in for the mudguards to be fitted, so I was already paying for the labour for that to be done. This is my second car from this dealer, so I guess it would depend on the relationship you have with your dealer.

Did you try Carista Dave? It has SO many settings for the Gen 1. I assume should be all the same carried forward.
Some examples below. A lot to play with if someone wants to try. I've thought about writing a full article on settings available to play with but never got the time or motivation to.

I did try that for the previous car, but on trial. If I want to try it again, I think I have to pay for the subscription, and I baulk at paying 30 quid or whatever it is just to change a couple of settings, once.

It's an option if the dealer doesn't do it for free or saves a visit to them as their charges will be killer. It has about 50+ settings to play with . Last I remember monthly charge was £10 assuming you had the obd2 bluetooth dongle.

Does anyone know how to enable comfort unlocking (both doors) and windows up/down. My dealers technician is struggling to find the settings even when I gave them "body" eco settings clue.
I am due to collect my car tomorrow and would like this enabled before I collect.

Not sure about the comfort unlocking, or what you mean by that(!) but for the windows they could always try calling the service dept at Listers in Coventry and ask them how they did it.

I went through the same with my dealer, haven't gone back yet but I managed to convince them they van change it and here I am quoting @Nick

For some strange reason it stuck in may head as comfort unlocking, but what I mean is Smart door unlocking as stated in manual on page 379.

I have collected my GR86. Toyota garage did not manage to enable Smart door unlocking or remote windows. They could not find it in settings anywhere. They quoted the manual if car fitted with double locking which mine is there is no option for smart locking enable.
They said if I can provide video evidence of doors and windows operating they will look into it further. Does anybody have video showing this operation?

Use the beta testing you get more options and no yearly fee.
