GR Yaris Ooooo! An update!

On Facebook a dealer has said all UK deliveries are held at derby due to a shortage of locking wheel bolts and Toyota will not release cars without.
Ok everyone, who wants some spare sets of BBS wheels?

Well I now have a GR Yaris registered, the Vin number and the date of my first payment in a few weeks for the 0% finance.
The one thing I have not got yet is the car😢.

Yes they are quick to set the payments up, mine came out on the 30th two weeks after I picked it up.

wonder if we will see any next march with 23 reg or will 72 be the last ones.

Does anyone have a delivery date after September/ October? Seems like the last orders placed are estimated to arrive around that time.

Mine is scheduled for 12th September currently, so if it stays on schedule, I'll be a 72... or if I'm lucky, a 22 I guess.

With my order number, only 1-2 months of orders are behind me... but atm things seem blocked up, and not a lot of movement.

I guess it depends how much time the line is blocked for, but in reality there'd have to be blockage that held the line for at least six months, if not eight to push cars into 23 plates.

I think the order books will re-open, once we get down to about 6 months from final deliveries - though they may keep an extra month's worth of production for dealers at that point.

You don't put 5 years R&D in a model to finish it after a couple of years.

I think the GR Corolla will be the logical progression of the GR Yaris development

Unless of course they continue to make an (alleged) loss on each one, in which case job done and use some of that for the Corolla project as stated above,

I'm not sure they do make a loss - maybe just not as much profit as on other models from the production stage. The price of replacement parts is eyewatering though, and that's where manufacturers make their money. Have you seen the price of a complete engine?
I'm also of the opinion that the Corolla will be a normal production car rather than using the bespoke assembly of the GR Yaris.

I haven’t seen the price of an engine. Hopefully not a concern of mine for a decade - how much?

Mines was originally May 22 then like most others it's Oct but dealer says it could be Sept.....

My T has finally updated today, gone straight from Processing Order to In Transit at Derbyshire. Dealer did say it was supposed to be with them on the 14th Feb ready for collection 1st March, was doubting it but looks promising now. JQ9xxx Ordered 18th Feb 21.

Got an update on regarding my December order today; the projected delivery date moved from October to July, which was a nice surprise as I was mentally preparing myself for a 2023 delivery.

If my car is stuck in Derby due to missing locking wheel nuts, I would be more than happy to supply the wheel nuts and pay for a taxi from Bedfordshire to Derby to pick my car up (y)
