I got excited when Toyota told me today that "The wait is over"


Turns out it was the GR86 order book opening and not my GR Yaris being built :(

My own fault for signing up to the mail list out of curiosity :ROFLMAO:
 
Well I finally have my car today after 13 months of being patient. I do think the manual is a little pessimistic as to how it all might end though 😂

I’ve just had a surprise call from dealer to say mine has just arrived in New Zealand and I can pick it up mid-May, previously told July/Aug. Toyota NZ took the last deposits in early Dec 2020 (for delivery in Q4 2021) and didn’t know if they’d get any more. I put my name down on Dec 23rd 2020 (after watching all your UK YT reviewers like The Car Guys, Petrol Ped, Dan Prosser, Alex Goy, Late Brake Show, Joe Achilles etc.) but there were no confirmed shipments until Dec last year when TNZ announced an allocation of 100 cars. So I will have waited 17mnths, hope all those YT reviewers were right!

Think you might be the latest known delivery as well, the sheet has you down as the 19th March for your order. As someone who ordered five weeks after that, honestly, that is great news.

It’s all I’ve been thinking about since I confo’d my order last May. JW build no. (Still processing order) Godda shoppin list as long as ones arm to employ when le day comes. Met a bloke with a Black CP 14thou ont clock the other day, said hadn’t a single prob and has it as stock. S’funny when I think about how totally impractical it is for my lifestyle, sure enough I’ll see one… Sign much? Don’t wanna wish away this up coming summer, but Oktober canny come soon enough!

I did get brought forward by online sales though. There was a cancellation after the car landed in the UK and I was the next one due to be alloacted a build slot. Either way you'll be getting closer :)
 
My JS order moved initially from Sept to July and now June. Got a VIN, assumption car has been built and is on-route to the UK. MyT app still shows 'Processing Order'... got the Tegiwa mirror riser. Looking for TRD front splitter and exhaust once I get an official date from the dealer/app.
 
So as I expected my order has just updated to left the factory!
It is on the Michigan Highway Due into Bristol 29th May, interestingly the My T code shows an ETA of the 27th May and my new ETA to the dealer is the 22nd of June.
Hopefully it will be closer to 13th-17th June for collection, leaving 2-3 weeks for it to get off the boat, to the dealer and prepped.

Also have a VIN now so will update the thread with that.

It is a JU order, placed in the first week of April 2021 for anyone else waiting for their car.
