GR86 Oil disposal at service

I paid £80 for my 1st service at my local dealer. Ok I supplied my own oil but got friends and family discount from my mate who works there. Worked out at £140 with the oil.
Do dealers allow you to supply your own oil? Im Beds and take mine to MK.

I used Letchworth and after a bit of to & fro, and wriggling, they did, once I reassured them I knew the requirements of the specification.

My car got its first service at Western Toyota Dumfermline, service was done as I waited just over an hour and fed coffee and biscuits. Charged £310 and car not washed as requested. Not sure where that disposal of oil charge comes from, that would be an operating cost of the garage. I could not fault them on this visit.

I talked to someone in recycling here in Fife, engine oil is recycled and can be used for manufacture of oil filled radiators, reused for heating oil etc. Garage should be paying for your oil not the other way round. Or go old school and pump the old engine oil into the box sections of your car mixed with Waxoyl, used to work a treat, though might cause havoc with a nice new mono block driveway.

It's reasons like this why I took mine to an independent that we have used for our fleet for years.

They charged me £50 for my 1 year service, with me supplying the oil, filter and crush washer. I am happy to pay this much, as i know there's more to their operating costs than just the time spent by the mechanic, but this has to be the easiest car in the world to change the oil on.

They're bang out of order charging you extra when you already have a service plan - the whole point of having a plan is that you don't pay anything!

I think they are having him on. I have 2 service plans on both my Toyotas and never been asked to pay this.

Just had my 2nd service in Bracknell - no mention of this but had to pay a small amount for a loan car which was annoying.

I’ve had this with my 2 local dealerships both the same group but one charges you and one does not. Considering the price being paid the loan of an Aygo for a couple of hours must cost penny’s.
