Hi guys!

I got the information from the German Toyota customer support that the GR Yaris (Gen 2) has to get an oil change every 6 month regardless how many kilometres it has run since the last oil change.
The other limit for the oil change is 10.000 km.

It would be interesting to know what are the oil change intervals in other countries.

Therefore, it would be nice if some of you could post pictures from GR Yaris (Gen 2) and (Gen 1) service booklet from other countries.

Below are pictures of the German GR Yaris (Gen 2) service booklet.

What does it mean translated into english?
Intermediat inspection every 10.000 km or 6 month whichever comes first?

Isn't it safety inspection that is required every 6 months/6kmiles. The actual oil change is that intermadiate service every year / 6kmiles as for mk1.

Yeahthe only change is the safety inspection that only the UK required is now in the manual. I wonder if this will impact warranty?

The oil change is the same as the mk1 (sorry I’ve been under the weather and didn’t pickup on this yesterday and for some reason thought it was different) 🤣

Toyota just grasping more money from "light treatment" (valohoito in finnish) the car every 6 months. though it would be good if the would atually check the condition of oil and fluids. if thats possible to be done without changing them, is a good question.

Ok so just used a bit of translate and realised that the UK is different in that they want a visual inspection every 6 months (like before) but the difference is in the oil change.

For UK oil change is 1 year or 6,000 miles. For Germany and Spain it’s 6 months or 10,000km or 6,213 miles.

Due to the different information in the German service booklet and the UK service booklet, I contacted:
and bought access for 1 hour for approx. 6 €.

There are two categories in the maintenance schedule for oil changes:
“Normal” and ”Servere”

According to the document “DEFINITIONS OF SEVERE CONDITIONS”, the intervals for “Normal” apply to the GR Yaris, unless it is often driven on dusty unpaved roads, used as a towing vehicle, used with a roof rack, repeatedly driven less than 8 km at temperatures below 0°C or would be idling for a long time or driven slowly for a long time, such as police vehicles, cabs or delivery services.

For “Normal”, the MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE - EUROPE clearly states “Every 12 month” or "10,000 km" for the oil change.

If the criteria for “Servere” were met, the interval would be 6 months or 5,000 km, but not 6 months and 10,000 km, as the German Toyota customer service department interprets the service booklet.

In the document, vFL (start of production 2020/08) and FL (start of production 2024/04) are listed separately in the table and the specifications for the oil change are the same for both.
They also both have the same model code GXPA16

I find it extremely annoying and unprofessional that you get such bad information on such simple but important questions from the official German Toyota customer service.
It's really unbelievable!

It's also really bad of Toyota to formulate this so ambiguously in the German service booklet.
The service booklet for the UK shows how to do it better and really clearly.

I'm curious to see what my Toyota dealer and the Toyota customer service have to say about it.

I hope this information helps you guys (to save some money and time).

I didn't buy a GR to not drive it severely at times, so 5000km OCI is fine for me.
It also seems that anti-LSPI properties of SP/GF oil drops off significantly with use which will be addressed with the next oil standard.
Then we might do 7500-10000km OCI.

In summary, it says to change the oil and filter every 10,000 km or once a year. Every six months, an inspection should be done to ensure everything is in good condition, but without changing the oil. We understand that the car owner performs the inspection.
