GR Yaris (Gen 2) Oil change every 6 month for GR Yaris (Gen 2) in Germany

Hello folks, there is news about the oil change interval for the GR Yaris.
I had announced that I would ask the German Toyota Customer Service what they think about the information in the MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE - EUROPE, which clearly states the oil change interval for the GR Yaris as 10,000 km or annually, whichever comes first.
Now I received the answer that, in the opinion of the German Toyota customer service, the GR Yaris must have an oil change every 10,000 km or every 6 months, whichever comes first, so that there are no problems with the warranty.

The German Toyota customer service department suspects that the information in the MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE - EUROPE from TechDoc is incorrect and wants to have it checked.

As the oil change interval in the service booklet is not clearly defined as every 6 months and because it does not state that an oil change is also required at every intermediate inspection, there is only the MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE - EUROPE as an official document from Toyota, where there is a clear specification for the oil change interval.

I am curious to see how things will continue and whether they will be able to clarify this.
You can see from the UK service booklet what a clear formulation looks like, which cannot be interpreted in any other way.
I'll keep you up to date.

The documents MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE - EUROPE and SevereDrivingConditions can be downloaded here with access for 1 hour for approx. 6 €:

Just received gen 2 in Slovakia, here oil change is required every 10 000km or 1 year. However dealership recommended to schedule first oil change around 5000km just to be sure.

As I wrote above, I kept asking Toyota customer service about the oil change interval for the GR Yaris.
I almost didn't expect it anymore, but I got the written confirmation from the Toyota customer service that it applies to the GR Yaris:
The “full” inspection (including engine oil change) is annually or every 10,000 km (whichever comes first).
So if your GR Yaris has already covered 10,000 km after 6 months, the oil change is also due at this point.
If the mileage is less than 10,000 km, only the interim check is carried out (without an oil change).
The engine type (192 or 206 kW) is irrelevant.
So the same applies to vFL and FL.

This confirms what is also stated in the document:
MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE - EUROPE 10,000 km/6,000 miles GR Yaris
which can be downloaded here:
There is now a new version recognizable by the fact that the GR Yaris Special Edition Ogier, Rovanpera are also listed in the document.

I received this information about the Relax warranty from Toyota customer service:
The vehicle should be inspected (according to the manufacturer's specifications) annually or after 10,000 km at the latest (again, whichever comes first). The latter maintenance interval (annually/10,000 km) is relevant for triggering the Toyota Relax.

Hi guys, recently I bought a mk2 and today i took the car to toyota for the first oil change after the break in. When i got home i noticed that on the paper service they put 4.4 liters of oil instead of 4.3 how manual says. Thats a big concern or i am worrying to much? Im sorry if this isnt the right thread but I didnt want to open one just for this "problem".

You can always check the oil level using the dipstick. Don’t worry if it’s 2–3 mm above the max mark. From my experience servicing my GRY and my wife’s RAV4 at a Toyota dealership, they tend to slightly overfill. I do the same during mid-term oil changes to maintain a better safety margin against oil sloshing during hard braking.

I'd say that's way too much. Take big syringe, some oil resistand hard tube (PTFE or so) and suck some out through the dipstick hole. And keep it really clean 😉

I think i will just take the car back to them and make them pull out all the excessive oil. I paid for a service and they messed up, so they will fix it.
