I purchased this car back in 2022 after trying desprately to get a clean S2000 and discovering that the GR86 was cheaper new than a good condition S2000.
It arrived to me in July 2022 and is one of the first B series cars off the line - I had to wait for the A series (first year of production) cars to finish before they could place an order because Toyota has very limited influence over the Subaru manufacturing process in Japan. I imagine the purchase process is very different in Japan so if anyone is interested I am happy to share what I went through.
So far the work done on the car is pretty extensive and I am happy with where it is at.
Mod list from memory:
Not driven much in this car yet, only has ~3,000 kms on it.
I had a first gen BRZ back in 2013 and enjoyed that car for a while until I shifted over to something bigger that fit all the kids in it.
If anyone is interested I will make another post about the 40th anniversary GR86 I left in the garage back in Japan (the last photo)

Mod list from memory:
- HKS Supercharger (GT Spec 2)
- HKS ECU
- HKS Catted Exhaust Manifold
- Fujitsubo Authorize R Exhaust
- HKS Hipermax Type S coilovers (I have the Max4SP as well and it would be WAY too stiff for UK roads but is great on track)
- Cusco trailing arms (for rear camber)
- GR Performance Brakes (w/ PMU Pads as the GR ones are crap)
- GR Performance Strut Dampers
- Valenti taillights (purchased for a kiler discount at Tokyo Auto Salon last year)
- Grow one-piece carbon duckbill (this is made by Sasaki-san who is the Toyota test driver for the GR86)
- Grazio &Co Carbon replacements for all exterior trim parts
- TR-37 Saga SL wheels with Advan Neova AD09 Tires
