Its a thing, dealers here were notified a month or so ago now about the Manual Supra, & GR86 & GRC
The manual Supra was most likely a reaction to the 400Z

As Europe is not getting the 400Z will the same apply to the manual Supra or will Toyota see it as a way to (possibly) increase Supra sales which have not been huge in the U.K. It’s not as though there is anything to dislike about the way the ZF 8 speed performs, other than it doesn’t make your left leg ache or misses the odd gear

To be fair the 8 speed auto is amazing & I wouldn't consider a manual Supra at the horsepower level I'm at, even though I'm a manual man through & through having owned many old school manual V8s
